Nissan Almera My gearbox is making a whining noise on acceleration, I've renewed the gear oil, but it'sstill the same, is my gearbox knackered? how long will i be able to drive the car before it finally packs up? do you have an exploded view of the Nissan Almera Gearbox? it's 1.4cc 1996, petrol, 5 door hatchback. thanks Dave
what's this? make out someone can help, then after a day offer the premium service with no option to say "no I'll wait for a reply" I don't want to pay for your premium service! why not just be honest and say "we won't offer you any help unless you pay!"

hi i am not 100% sure but i think it is the P11 144 gearbox its used with the almera qg15de engine. i think it is also used in a primera and almera tino of the same years.
this is mpst definatly the gearbox differential bearings. what happends is the engine mounting goes and causes the gearbox to drop down causing excessive wear on the bearings. new gearbox im afraid
Probably the front differential, your probably hearing the famous differential gear whine. Change the oil, put Lucas for gears in it. You can get a hand operated oil pump to **** it out through the dip stick if it has one. Then fill it with the recommended amount.
being a renault, the n/s drive shaft holds the oil in box, it splits, replace then try oil some times they do thousands of miles others not, 5th gear over hears and braeks teeth off, then very noisey. if getting a box there is a tag on top, silver, near the diff, this has to be matched to other gearbox as so many different boxes.
