Cranks but no start or tries to start hot? Check ignition module when hot the board expands and cold contracts.

SOURCE: Audi 80e 1991 hard starting when cold

I've owned the same car. Check that the fuel relay 'primes' the system before you start the car. When you turn the key to the on position (all you dash lights, ready to start) you should hear the fuel pump run for a second or two. If it doesn't run you can replace the relay for about $30. If the relay is not the problem, it may be a check valve within the fuel line to the engine. This valve keeps fuel from draining back to the tank when the car is sitting. That way, there is fuel close to the motor when it's time to start. The temp senor was not a bad shot, they were thinking it was bad sensor not telling the cold start injector to run. Obviously not the case. However, the injector itself may be faulty in some way. As long as the car always starts, it's one of these problems, assuming the ignition system and engine mechanicals are in running order.  good luck. JK

SOURCE: 454 ci gm turns over hard backfires timing ok acts flooded

Check fuel pressure, and regulator. A leaking regulator gives a warm engine more fuel [ it does not like it] a cold motor does. same as a flooded motor. Good luck

SOURCE: HARD TO START ENGINE WHEN IS VERY COLD

check your battery, and see if the cca's (cold crankink amps) are up to par. How to test is, when it is cold try starting, if it starts slow shut off immediatly and put a "jump" on it. If it starts quickly...replace battery.

2002 Ford Mustang GT, CAR STARTS UP FINE WHEN COLD. Hard to start when warm No Check Engine lights come on.

Think about how the vehicle is acting. Starts fine when cold, hard to start when warm. In these computer operated systems, the computer runs everything. Starts fine when cold: the computer has the engine in cold start mode putting more fuel in till it warms up. Temperature sending unit in the manifold sends a message to the computer telling it to stop the cold start mode and it stops dumping excess fuel into the cylinders and it runs fine. IF, mind you, IF the temperature sending unit is faulty, it's not telling the computer to stop the cold start mode and is flooding the engine with fuel cause it's sill in cold start mode. This is my take away on your situation and the temp sending unit is something to check to be sure it's functional. Check it out. I hope this WAS the answer to your problem my friend. It's typical. Luck to'ya Bro.

Hard time starting when warm/hot.

This can be due to the Lean condition of the fuel ratio. The heat sensors need to cool down to put the engine into a "cold start routine". If the heat sensors are not cooling, then it will be hard to start.

Poor grade of fuel. Each grade of fuel has an ignition point. With the engine in Lean mode, the flash ratio prevents easy starting. You could also have a bleed down of fuel or a malfunction in the Evaporative emission system. This is now requiring your car to repressurize the system due to a bad solenoid or a faulty emissions line.

I hope my solution is helpful..

When my buick century 1995 is cold it will start but won't rev up. once it is hot it runs okay

Number of possibilities. See if you have any diagnostic codes stored. Could be throttle position sensor, coolant temp. sensor, hard to say. I would start with the codes. Does it start easy when warmed up, and run good? Boy, I just don't know.

Change the coolant sensor located close to the thermostat housing. This is easy but do not over tighten it. You will have the same problem if you do. Tighten till it does not leak only.Good luck!

Fuel?

It may be due to a failed/faulty fuel pressure regulator. I had this problem: easy start when cold, hard starting when warm/hot, and rotten egg smell from exhaust when warm/hot. My mechanic diagnosed a failed/faulty fuel pressure regulator, replaced it, and now the problems (warm hard start, smell) are gone. I have a '92 GT with L4 engine.
