An airlock ?? all vw group engines have to be vented after filling with antifreeze/water.....they used to fit a tap on the top heater hose, sadly no longer.so you have to undo the clip and vent it manualy.....

Should i replace audi 2008 a4 thermostat along with timing belt and water pump 120,000 miles

I would - but the timing belt would be overdue at 120K if a 2.0L engine. From the service interval linked below:

"At 110K miles (175,000 km) replace timing belt (2.0L engine only). Check condition of timing belt tensioning system, dampening pulleys, and idler pulleys and replace if necessary (2.0L engine only)."

2002 audi a4 overheats

-Flash the whole system with garden water from both direction.
-Check radiator's fin. If it clog , blow it out with air nozzle or best use pressure washer. But careful not to damage the fin. (Do not aim or point at angle and too close)
You should be good to go.

Hello, i just realised my car is overheating. The temp gauge reaches around 110-115 degress while driving even when stationary. Theres plenty of coolant and i have had a new timing belt and water pump for...

Check the radiator and the cooling fan. open the hood as the engine temperature rises does the fan come on. if not that the problem, Also do this As the car is warming up(from a cold start) near operating temperature, turn off the car, watch out for the fan, engine of key in your pocket fell the radiator is there any hot or cold spot? if there is the radiator is plugged. Also if the radiator isnt plugged new doesnt mean it works, the water pump itself can be faulty. and dont forget the most important device the Thermostat you did timing belt waterpump they should of done thermostat.

I have the front nose off my A4 Audi Quattro-1998-2.8L to do the timimg belt and I cannot locate the thermostat. Do you know where it is?

Hi mate, the thermostat probably like in my Audi 80 is situated inside of the water pump, just remove one of the hoses and it will be seen from there.
I wish you can resolve your problem, good luck.

Im replacing the water pump, timming belt on my 1996 audi a4 v6 2.8, they told me i need an idler roller and a tetioner roller, are those two the same thing? also what is a relay roller?

The idler pulley and the tensioner pulley are different. You will need special tools to do this job. I just completed doing the timing belt on my own 96 Audi A4 Quattro.Do you have a service manual for your car as this will help you alot. The tools you need are listed in the service manual with complete directions to complete the job. There are complete timing belt kits available that include the tools needed. The reason they recommend changing all the components is because it is often one of the components that fails that causes the timing belt to break.

Water Pump has gone in my Audi

it's not an easy job. and requires removal of many components in the front of the engine.  However, you can go the the public libuary an look up a Haynes or Chilton auto repair manual.  Good luck and you'll need a good set of tools and this would also be an excellent time to change the timing belt.

Heater does not produce hot air even on high only warm air

My 2002 Audi A4 doesn't produce the hot air, It's an Auto computer control temperature system. I took my car to the local mechanic (gas station), he said that the water pump and the timing belt need to be replaced.

The heating system normally produces by the engine, then normally the "thermostat' is causing the issue, but the temperature gauge doesn't indicate the overheat.

Any idea what's cause this problem?
