2002 kia optima has intermittent miss; usually upon first cranking, sometimes when stopped at redlights (misses so bad almost dies). About 9 months ago I replaced plugs and wires, I bought Iridium plugs and the best wire set I could by from Oreilly's, this seemed to fix things. Now the problem is back. I notice that one of the coil packs connectors(internally) is a brillant golden finish and one is black and smutty. I have no check engine lights on or trouble codes in the computer. Is it worth the $100 TO $150 to replace this coil pack, to see if this is my problem or should I look elsewhere for the problem?

I would replace all of the coil packs. If one goes bad the others are soon to follow. Also one weak one can kill the others. You may want to consider using non-OEM if the dealer wants $100 or more per coil. You can find non-OEM for maybe $30.

2002 Kia Optima stalls out dose not set a code you can be at a stop light and it will die or can be at 40 mph and it will die all this stalling and it dose not set a code car has 55000 miles on

Check fuel pressure, as a weak or failing pump could let the fuel pressure get too low.
Since it doesn't set a code, the problem is something not monitored by the sensors or the computer.
If fuel pressure is good, it could be a bad pcm-the engine computer.

Change your crankshaft sensor located behind lower timing belt cover. The way I check it is to unplug the maf and see if it will start if so stop the engine and do a diagnostic 3 DTC's should come up on screen ,one would be the crankshaft sensor. This should be done by a experienced tech.

Vehicle sputtering and missing likes its going to die at stops

It could really be any of those things. Those are normal wear and tear items that would be changed in a tune-up, when's the last time you had one?

Electric sensor for transmission kia dealer says kia won't fix or repair??

This could be a timing belt as well. have they looked at that as possibility. Sometimes the belt just jumps teeth causing it to still run just not correct.

Please reference the below as well as post reply if this doesn't help

Thanks

Kia Optima 2004

This could be multiple issues.
1.) timing belt
2.) Crank sensor
3.) Fuel pump (although usually they do not just die they get weak)

Check these let me know.
