My LED is no longer readable on my 1999 Saab 9-5 Turbo. I'm wondering how I could fix this myself?

I assume you're referring to the SID (system information display) that shows the temperature, distance to empty, etc.

You CAN take this apart and apply pieces of foam or rubber to increase the tension/pressure being applied to the LCD panel itself.

Here's a nice walk-through: http://www.thesaabsite.com/93/Saab-Sidrepairs.htm

Hi turbo blown on saab 9- 5 2001 Y

The part number is on a plate which is normally situated on the side of the turbo or between the inlet and outlet where the oil feed pipe is so either you can get it cleaned and see it in a small mirroror you need to remove the turbo. Otherwise you can get a motor parts shop to check it for you from few softwares available to them.

Can i you drive without turbo on saab 9-5 2000

No. Turbo charged engines have been designed to have the turbo. The turbo uses exhaust gas to spin a dual air compressor to push additional air into the intake, without it the car probably won't even run. There are numerous electronics monitoring pressures and temperatures. Sorry turbo has to be fixed for car to run properly.

1999 saab 9-5

Depending on the overall condition of the engine, it could have worn or frozen rings, worn valve guides or the turbo you installed is worn out. These are driven by exhaust pressure and if their bearings are worn, you may be getting a mix of compressed air from the turbo and oil that is seeping past the compressor's internal seals.

Refitting Saab 9-5 Turbo

The turbo is located on the front cylinder bank, under the engine cover and heat shield. The exhaust turbine housing is integrated into the exhaust manifold so this entire piece must be removed. Contact me via email and I will provide information on where to get your turbo rebuilt.
