Honda Civic 2002 1.7, when driving the car, it's seems like the car switches off for a split second and the engine management light shows for the split second. The rev counter drops. When cutting out sometimes the enigine management light stays on rev counter down, no power, and when for a split second cutting out again the car is okay. When the car is placed on the diagnostic machine no faults recorded on the computer box

First take your car to autozone or any of the car parts store..they will take a reading in why your light is on..they will show you what is defective if any but will not reset it..sometimes it is just a computer blip and just needs reset...some can be reset by disconnecting the battery cables fir a few min..if that does not do it you will need to get or know someone who has a diagnostic tester,one that has the ability to reset the check engine...auto zone sells them faily cheap and easy to use..good luck..

Disconnect battery.

Check with Honda, there is a recall for headlight wiring/switch.

try changing the spark plugs

repl;ace the crank sensor yourself, belt inspect can wait

P1259 HONDA - VTEC System Malfunction
Possible causes- Low engine oil pressure or level
- Open or short circuit condition
- Faulty VTEC oil pressure switch
- Faulty VTEC solenoid
When is the code detected?The P1259 is set when there is a problem in the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch circuit or VTEC Solenoid Valve circuit

yes it means its time to change the oil

check it again that you havent left a vac pipe off ,or the ends are not split letting it **** in air .

is it getting noisy... that's usually the first clue... to rule out anything serious have the oil pressure checked.

I have heard that the same error code on other brands can result from misfiring due to failing sparkplugs.
