Cant open the trunk from inside tried using the key to unlock the switch and it cant turn... any ideas on what I can to to unlock my car from the inside and not have to get out and unlock manually thx

disconnect trunk switch and see what happens when you perform the above actions.also is the trunk switch located with the window switch and does your door lock unlock normally when you turn car off.

Turn the key to the left?

1. Open trunk
2. Place latch in lock position
3. Pull inside trunk release to see what isn't moving
4. If trunk key won't turn, the key may be worn out and need to be replaced

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

Question is why cant you unlock trunk? Ok in the focus on the inside of the trunk you have the unlock for the seats which would mean that you would need to be able to open trunk. So maybe i can help you figure your trunk out. Get me more info on why cant you use a key and if the button on the dash works to pop trunk or not. I will be more than happy to help.

There are 2 security system, namely anti-theft and immobilizer.

Here are the 2 systems.

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Anti-theft system is controlled by Body Control Module (BCM). BCM receives signals from hood switch, trunk switch, door switches and Local Control Modules (LCMs). There are 5 LCMs located throughout vehicle.

To set anti-theft system in armed mode, remove ignition key, close all doors, trunk and hood. Lock doors using key or remote controller. The SECURITY light will illuminate for 30 seconds, then flash in 2.4 second intervals, indicating system is in armed mode.

To cancel armed mode, unlock and open any door or trunk lid using key or remote controller. SECURITY light will flash every second, indicating system is disarmed.

Alarm will activate (horn sounds, headlights flash and starter circuit is disabled) if any of the following conditions occur while system is in armed mode:

Engine hood or trunk lid is opened using the hood or trunk lid release.
Door(s) is unlocked without key or remote controller.
Tampering with any door/trunk lid key cylinders.
To deactivate anti-theft system, unlock door or trunk using key or remote controller.

If it is the immobilizer that is preventing the engine from being started, ensure you have the correct key and the transponder is intact. Quite often keys are dropped and if it breaks open, the internals would scatter all over. When this occurs, there is a tendency for the transponder to be lost.

I had this problem in my 1998 olds 88ls pretty much the same car. Open the glove box there should be a little switch in there that say trunk lock/unlock. make sure its switch to the unlock side. the idea for the switch is so you can put valuables in the trunk flip that switch to lock then lock the glove box and people cant get your trunk open and steel your stuf.

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good,with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.

This is a known issue with these vehicles and results vary with a solution.
Try spraying the key with WD40 and spray wd40 inside the key opening and insert the key into the cylinder. Then wiggle the key around and turn slightly left to right to see if you can get it pop. You may have a strike plate that is out of alignment.
Also,try having someone push down hard on the trunk while turning the lock to open.
Have you tried unlocking the rear seat to allow access to the trunk? there is a manual cable/switch that will most likely have a bright colored end, pull this switch to manually open,I'm not real sure what side it is on in the trunk.

use your key to open the trunk. Then look at the on and off switch located on inside the trunk latch. Make sure it is in the unlock position.
