My Subaru Forrester (2005) is very sluggish (inspite of having just had an oil change and a service recently, as well as replacement of brakes and a full check through). As I change gears, the revs increase before settling down to normal. It has only 33,000 km on the clock and this problem has never occurred before. Can anyone help with this please? Thank you!

Did it have this problem before you had it serviced. if not then guess what they did something wrong at the shop and need to fix there mistake. sluggish wont go away just changing the oil. if you suspect the brakes dragging. you would only need to jack up the wheels to see which one wont turn. and if a brake is dragging. it will get so hot you can feel the heat when you touch the center of the rim. might check for any vacuum leaks or if they connected the hose clamps from the air box to the intake.

If it makes noise, it's not the fuse. Most likely the discharge nozzles are stopped up. Try blowing compressed air into them from the outside.

No ... once you start the synthetic you should stay with it ... continue to use the recommended weight. 75000 is really no miles ... This engine should go for 175 to 200,000 properly cared for.

Your auto parts store that sells Fram can give you the proper filter.

Turn off the parking light over ride switch. it is the switch on the top of the steering collumn. I worked for a Subaru dealer for years and have seen this sooooo many times. Honest mistake. Good luck. Scott

once you change fuel octane it may run sluggish because the car is used to running at a better octane to run more efficient. go back to 93 and see if that may change it back to normal (note that it may take your car a few runs to get back to normal)
