1998 MITSUBISHI MONTERO POWER SEAT MOTOR

I NEED THE POWER DRIVER SEAT MOTOR FOR MY 1998 MONTERO. DO YOU HAVE ONE OR DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO GET IT?? I CAN NOT FORWARD THE SEAT.

    I also have the same issue. BUT mine will not go backwards. The dealers want to charge $1400 to have it replaced. I was told it was because it had to be replaced along with a track assembly. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get in there and fix it yourself?

I FOUND AFTER SEVERAL TEST THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE SWITCH CONTROL ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE DRIVER SEAT NOT THE COMPUTER UNDER THE DRIVER (THAT COST A LOT OF MONEY) SEAT. MY BEST RECOMMENDATION CALL PITSTOP AUTO WRECKING AT (818)899-0226 THEY ARE SPECIALIST IN USED MITSUBISHI PARTS IN SUN VALLEY CALIFORNIA. IT MAYBE COST NO MORE THAN $150 AND IT IS EASY TO INSTALL

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Drivers seat won't go back only forward. Need help fixing or taking seat out. Is there a video?
Hi Maryann:
Seats are usually bolted to the floor so removal involves kneeling on the ground (with the door open) and looking under the seat. Use the appropriate socket to remove the bolts and the seat will lift out. There may be some wires to unplug.
You will probably find that the slide mechanism is jammed or a spring has come off. Repair should be straightforward.

This vehicle only came with a 2.6 liter 4 cylinder. To verify this look on the dasboard through the windshield on the driver's side towards the bottom and you will see a long number. The 8th digit from left to right should be an "E". That means it is a 2.6 liter motor.Good luck
