2005 ford freestyle, for about 5 months now, while driving or in park, there is a clicking sound and then all of the dash instruments and lights will cut out. sometimes they will flicker or just remain out for a few moments and then come back on, turn signal on dash will also cut out if on when this happens. can happen several times while driving whether just started or have been driving for hours. there is no loss of power and the car drives fine. had engine scanned and there were no codes, additionally check all of the fuses, but found nothing.

Sounds like an electrical issue maybe the plug from firewall to cab is loose or on computer is loose, sometimes those coonections or pins get loose,i had a new car with 200 miles on it and it went dead in heavy traffic,had to get towed to dealer they found loose connection!!!!With audible noise when happens tells me its wiring,check all connections and wires to connections make sure there not loose!!!Best of Luck to you!!!!!

Check all the bulbs at tail end for parking and brakes, test grounds and harness for trailer. Check fuses. clean batery terminals, Re instal head light swich properly and make sure all wires conect.

factory immobiliser playing up ,get a new ECU unit with the chip out of the key and the key reader

there is a plug connector on the top of the engine (you should be able to see it with the engine cover still on) check the wires going to the plug as they are known to brake

this problem is caused by a tiny micro switch that is attached to the door latch inside the doors, the stick and give this false warning, have replaced dozens of them, it is called the "door ajar" switch oddly enough :)
