How to fix rear wheel bearing on 2002 chevy express van 1500

Remove the rear differential cover. You will see a large pin in the center that has to be removed, spin the diif until you see the bolt that holds it in. The pin should just slide right out. Assuming tires are off. Push the axle towards the center. On the end of the axle is a c clip that has to come out. Magnetic works well for these. Pull the axle out. Remove the bearing. There are special tools to get them out.

2006 chevy express 2500. While changing the brakes on my van, a rivet and clip pulled through the rear wheel dust plate, I'm unsure on how to fix this as now one half of the shoe is rubbing agains

get a washer welded in its place but if you dont want to go that way you will need to pull the brake shoes the drive axle just to get to the backing plate so you can remove the old one and install a new one

Can't remove front wheel bearing hub on 2004 chevy express 1/2 ton. any suggestions

I presume you are trying to REPLACE the hub assembly? If so, you do not have to worry much about dammaging it. Simply take the three bolts out of the inboard side of the steering knuckle and beat it with a large hammer.

If your van is equiped with All-Wheel Drive, you must remove the large nut from the axle first to do this. Then the axle can be pushed in far enough to gt clearance to get the bolts out of the steering knuckle that hold the bearing assembly. Two-Wheel Drive is much easier.

It is also recommended that you disconnect the wheel speed sensor wire harness before trying to get the hub loose. Damage to the vehicle harness can result if the bearing comes out suddenly and pulls on the cable.
