I have a 2007 Kia Spectra EX Sedan check engine light problem, the light stays on and the gas cap is on properly. It has 88,000 miles on it and I have noticed that I am getting less gas milage and the car runs slightly sluggish. what could this be? I am fearing that it could be the catalytic converter. Could I be correct? What is the milage for a catalytic converter on this car before replcing it? Please HELP with expert advice. Thank you.

Could be a number of things. A common problem is the O2 sensors. Shoot down to your local Autozone or Pep Boys and have them pull eror codes out of the system. That will tell you where to start looking

Check engine light on

I had the same problem. I went to the kia dealer and they checked the code that caused the light to be on and found I had a leak in the gas cap. They replaced the gas cap and the problem went away. You night need to find out what made the check engine light go on in the first place.
