There is a waste gate on a turbo and that gate dumps the excess pressure in the manifold. There is a sensor that determines when the gate opens and closes. You need to run a diagnostic scan and see what the waste gate and sensors are doing.
Can you describe what you mean by "flat spot"? Do you mean that there is par of the rev range where there seems to be little power? Turbo engines tend to produce bursts of power when the turbo spools up. Does the "flat spot" happen at low revs? If so, your turbo isn't spooled up yet. As you accelerate and it fires up you feel a rush of power. just a guess, provide more details and we'll try to help
I would recommend you try to perform a fuel system pressure test. The specifications are available by calling the dealer. It seems you have a fuel delivery problem, possibly a bad fuel driver module or pump and that is located in the fuel tank. Follow the precautions when performing the test. If you hard accelerated and the vehicle stumbles or has a "dead spot" on acceleration then it's a good indication that it's a fuel delivery issue. The reason for the speedo going wacky is because the vehicle is not performing properly !!
system to lean means that there is not enough gas getting into the system try checking fuel filter and fuel injectors that should help you there hope everything works out
