Start car, turn off anything making noise. Set driver side and passenger side to cold. Next, side driver side to warm and listen for a "motor" sound from u Der the dash. Do the same for passenger side. If you hear the motors, those are the actuators and they are working. In this case, the retaining clip has failed and needs replacing. If you don't hear the motor, the actuator needs replacing. You should hear a motor on either side since both failing would be rare.

Retaining clips are around $3, actuators can cost up to $100. Replace from under dash, don't remove dash as some suggest as it is a waste of time.

Sounds like the heater blend door. The actuator may be stuck or broken. The actuator opens and closes to adjust for the heat setting in the car. You might be able to take a coathanger and manually open the door if you can get to the control arm. They are usually hard to get to and pretty expensive. It is located under the dash at the heater core box. Good luck.

My 1999 ford taurus heater doesnt work. We recently had a problem with the reservoir boiling over and brown coolant. Had the thermostat replaced and replaced the radiator cap. Also flushed the radiator....

Sounds like the heater core may be blocked..First check the level make sure its full..Then let the vehicle get up to operating temperature..Feel the heater hoses going into the firewall..Both should be hot to touch..If one is hot and the other one is warm or not warm ,,then you have a blockage in the heater core..If its block ,,then i have cleaned them out by taking the heater hoses off,,and running a garden hose through the heater core..If that doesnt work then you have to remove the dash,,and replace the heater core..

1998 mercury grand marquis heater doesnt work only cold air comes out the air cond works fine the enginecoolant is new, the engine doesnt overheat.

Either your heater control valve is not properly operating or your heater core is clogged. Locate the heater control valve under the hood, should be close to firewall on heater hose, have someone adjust temperature from hot to cold and see if you can see the heater control valve operating if so replace the heater core, if its not doing anything replace it(heater control valve).

Are there freeze plugs on a 2005 Chevy Equinox? We had a hard freeze last night and now the heater doesn't work.

Freeze plugs are actually Core plugs for the block to get the sand out when casting the engine block from cast iron. They actually have nothing to do with freezing, or the heater. What do you mean by "doesnt work" ??? doesnt blow at all? doesnt blow hot?

Heater blower doesnt work on 2005 chrysler 300

Locate the fuse pannel and check for blown fuse...If fuse not blown - check fan control relay for proper operation - If thats not the problem check for voltage at the switch.
