HELLO: Sounds like a failed battery or a failed starter. If you can try jump starting the car. If you have good solid connections when you try to jump start then you might have a failed starter. ONE WAY TO CHECK THE STARTER IS HAVE SOMEONE HOLD THE KEY IN START POSITION AND HAVE SOMEONE TAP THE STARTER WITH A HAMMER, IF THE CAR STARTS THEN REPLACE THE STARTER.

SOURCE: clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

SOURCE: 06 jeep commander wont crank. No interior lights,

Check your battery cables. Remove them and clean the contacts, if the ends are replacements take them apart and clean. Use a wire brush or sand paper. Make sure you remove the negative first and reinstall it last. Also check the battery and fuse links. Your problem is in there some where the battery, cable ends, cables, or a fuse link. If still no start let me know the results and we can go from there if need be.

SOURCE: 91 Buick Park Ave won't start

i just came across this problem myself the other day. i have a 91 buick park avenue that sometimes won't start. i checked several things out like cable connections and coil pack etc. etc. come to find out it was the wiring that came off the coil pack and connects to the crank sensor. the wiring that ran over top of the water pump had finally heated up so bad the coating on the wires had melted and when the engine got hot enough the wires would come in contact and send false signals to the computer not letting it start. after the car cools down and the wires contract it would start. so check the wires from the coil pack to the crank sensor to make sure the wires are not melted together.

My 2001 buick century custom sedan 3.1 V-6 will not start at all....no spark...nothing at all......with the headlights on ...they stay bright when I turn the key to try to start but nothing at all..no...

Firstly it is advisable to energise the starter solenoid manually. If the engine cranks the fault is - immobiliser, ignition switch, relay, supply, wiring or connections.

If the engine doesn't crank the fault is likely the starter motor or solenoid.

95 Buick Riviera Died on the highway. 95 buick riviera was making a clanking sound, then I felt a big **** and everything shut off now car won't start, or do anything. what does this problem sound

Your flywheel may have broke or the crank could have broke. If the crank broke the engine is done. Try to turn the engine over by hand. You can put a socket on the crank pully bolt and try to turn it.make sure the key is off and out of the ignition. Sorry for your loss.

Turns over but wont crank...horrible screeching noise

To clarify, if the engine cranks or turns over but won't start, look for a stuck pulley on the engine. You may be hearing the belt slipping on that pulley. Take the belt off and try turning each pulley - also try starting the engine with the belt off.

2002 Buick Regal won't start

Hi Debbie , Do you know anything about automotive electrical systems an testing ? Viewing wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in the starting system on your vehicle would be the first step ,then testing the electrical circuits for the starter using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter .
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Starter Voltage Drop
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year ,make , model an engine . Under system click engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the diagram I see when the key is turned to start it send a crank signal to the PCM - engine computer , if the PCM gets a valid fuel enable & starter enable signal from the anti-theft system it will energize the crank relay sending B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . That is if the park neutral safety switch is OK . You mite try putting the vehicle in neutral to see if it starts then. These switch wear on the inside that could cause a no start problem . You can test from the crank relay ,watch this video VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis In the video he uses a horn circuit , your crank relay works the same .

1991 Lexus 400 - engine doesn't start - battery seems charged - 12.3 volts - makes clicking sound only - doesn't turn over at all.

Is it one click or multiple clicks. If it's multiple clicks, it sounds like a dead battery. Voltage isn't always an indicator of a good battery, you need to have enough cranking amps to be able to start an engine also. If you have dash lights and it only clicks once, you could have a bad starter. An easy way to check this is to try and jump start the vehicle. If it starts up with a jump start, you need a new battery. If it still doesn't start up and it just clicks, you probably need a new starter.

Good Luck!

sounds like a bad connection! are your battery terminals tight? you should check your engine ground wire, and then check your connection to your starter.

1997 buick skylark wont start

Does it crank and not start or not even crank. You could have a bad starter. I would test the battery first. When it won't start try to jump start it. If it jump starts it's probably the battery. If it won't jump start it's probably the starter.

Would appreciate your help

It could be anything. Please describe "doesn't start", do you get power to you dash/headlights, etc? Does the starter wind up, and make a high whining sound. Does it crank very slowly, and die. Does it crank normally, but the engine refuses to fire?
