SOURCE: 1999 Nisian Maxima and need to know what codes mean?

P1320 Ignition Signal
Signal wire from distributor
P0325 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
O2 senor ( The one before the cat converter )
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
The misfire detection monitor, a software strategy built into the computer, is designed to detect an engine misfire. The computer can also normally identify the specific cylinder in which the misfire has occurred. A misfire is nothing more than a lack of combustion, which can be caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark or unmetered air entering the engine. There are other possible, less obvious causes as well, such as uncommanded Exhaust Gas Recirculatin (EGR), flow. When the misfire monitor detects a misfire, it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the P030X code. For instance cylinder 1 misfire is P0301, cylinder 2 is P0302 etc. In this case we have either multiple cylinders misfiring, or the computer simply can't determine the specific cylinder, and as such we are left with the P0300 in computer memory.
Possible Causes:
Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect fuel pressure

EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty coil or related wiring
Ignition module or related wiring issues
Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issues

SOURCE: engine diagnostic code P1320, 2000 nissan maxima

P1320 is the Ignition Signal Primary. There is a technical bulletin for this code for this vehicle. To remedy this issue, you will need to replace all 6 ignition coils. I suggest that you purchase them from a Nissan dealer to make sure you get the right ones.

Primary ignition fault. Reasons: Bad distributor cap (most likely) or ignition control module/ignition coil.
Hope that helps

SOURCE: i have a 1999 nissan maxima with code P1320

This code is a crapshoot. There are two main things it could be and they are both expensive. There could be wire breakage in the engine harness. There is a thick harness coming out of engine bulkhead on the passenger/right side and it has a slight bend to it. With the engine idling grab that bend and give it a couple of twists and yanks. If the engine stumbles or misses that is the source of your troubles. If not, you more than likely need to replace the coils. Any one of the six coils could be causing the code so I recommend replacing all six at the same time. You could buy one coil for the front bank and one for the rear and swap it between cylinders to see which coil is causing the code. This is time consuming but cheaper.

What is P1320 manufacturer code

I found a thread on Maxima.org relating to the P1320 error code. Specifically, 2000-2001 Maxima's have had this problem. It seams as though everybody agrees that the error is caused by the ignition coils. We've never had ours changed, so I'm doing that. Nissan was going to charge me approx $600 (plus tax) for parts and another $180 for labor. The job take a whole 30 minutes to replace the 6 of them, and you can get the 6 ignition coils at O'reilly's for $325. I changed three last night and the car seems to be doing better. I'll replace the other 3 tonight and see what happens.

Also, when testing the car, the car seems to "shake". I'm not sure if this is related to the P1320, but if we turn off the AC the "shaking" stops.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

P1320 trouble code plus

The P1320 code is essentially a coil primary voltage problem. This is traceable using a labscope or accurate DVOM and perhaps you can isolate one or two coils that still work but are close to failure...but there is a nissan service message recommending replacement of ALL coils with updated/improved models to prevent this type of failure. TCS/SLIP is traction control. Most likely you have a speed sensor issue. Be aware, some vehicles can falsely illuminate TCS because of low tire pressure in a single wheel.
