Unfortunately there are several things that code could mean. Unless you still have the number code, it's hard to say. What is not hard to say is that, Ford should have caught that and addressed it in the immediate repair. Sounds like they got all the easy stuff in hopes that you would come back and spend more money. If there is a "check engine" light on, there is an issue and should be checked out and repaired. My first call would be to the Service manager of the dealer and kindly explain the issue that the technician MISSED. If he can't do anything, talk to the General manager. Some vehicles, may exhibit drivability conditions. These may include: •
No start • Difficult to start • Stall • Low idle • Rough idle • High
idle • Hesitation/surge while accelerating or at steady speed
These conditions may be intermittent with no Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTC) and no Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). In some cases DTC and MIL
may be evident.
P0506 - Idle Air Control (IAC) System RPM Lower Than Expected
This P0506 code is one that's sometimes triggered on vehicles that have electronic throttle control. That is, they don't have a regular throttle cable from the accelerator pedal to the engine. They rely on sensors and electronics to control the throttle. In this case, the P0506 DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is triggered when the PCM (powertrain control module) detects an engine idle speed that is lower than the desired (pre-programmed) RPM.
Potential Symptoms: Most likely the only thing you'll notice is the idle speed is lower than normal so it will likely be rougher. There are potentially other symptoms as well. Of course, when trouble codes are set, the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp, a.k.a. the check engine light) illuminates.
Causes: A P0506 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
* A vacuum leak
* An air restriction in the intake air path or exhuast
* A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
* Damaged/failed/dirty throttle body
* Internal engine problem
* Failed PCM
Possible Solutions:
This DTC is more of an informational code, so if there are any other codes set, diagnose them first. If there are no other codes, inspect for vacuum leaks, restrictions, and damage. If there are no symptoms other than the DTC itself, just clear the code and see whether it returns.

About the DTC P0708 - Range Transmission Sensor, this is usually caused by the Transmission Range sensor, it is located on top of the transmission behind and below the air cleaner.
Replace the transmission range sensor or have a mechanic replace it for you.
Removal:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301).
2. Place manual control lever (7A256) in NEUTRAL.
3. Remove engine air cleaner (ACL) (9600) and air cleaner outlet tube (9B659). Disconnect electrical connector from transmission range (TR) sensor.
4. Remove manual control lever from transaxle.
5. Remove two TR sensor retaining bolts.
6. Remove transmission range (TR) sensor.
Installation:
1. Make sure manual control lever is in the NEUTRAL position.
2. Install transmission range (TR) sensor and loosely install two retaining bolts.
3. Align TR sensor slots using Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Alignment Tool (MLPS Alignment Tool) T92P-70010-AH.(align the neutral line on sensor if you don't have the tool)
4. Tighten TR sensor retaining bolts to 9-12 Nm (7-9 lb-ft) and remove tool.
5. Connect electrical harness to transmission range (TR) sensor.
6. Install transaxle manual control lever. Tighten to 11-16 Nm (8-11 lb-ft).
7. Install air cleaner outlet tube and engine air cleaner. Refer to Section 03-12.
8. Connect battery ground cable.
9. Check for proper operation with parking brake control (2780) engaged. The engine should start only in PARK or NEUTRAL.

Verify that the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor is correctly adjusted as follows:
Verify that the shift selector lever is in NEUTRAL.
Install the digital TR sensor and loosely install the bolts.
Using the tool illustrated, align the digital TR sensor and tighten the bolts.
Connect the connector.
Install the manual control lever cable onto the bracket and tighten the nut to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Install the electrical connector and wiring harness to the bracket.

What was the exact trouble code number? Autozone is reputable, I have used there scan tool before and it was 100% correct. The transmission sensor is located on the drivers side of the transmission behind the front wheel, remove the plastic cover to see it.
