How can i deactivate the alarm system on my 2002 intrepid. i bought the car used and the person only had the key, not the button, i need to deactivate it so it doesnt go off everytime i open my car. I was hoping i could just remove a fuse or something before i have the money to buy a new alarm button. thanks

Door Key Switch
The BCM monitors the door key switches in order to disarm the CTD system. When the lock cylinder turns in order to unlock the door, the switch grounds the disarm input to the BCM.
The key lock input to the BCM is probably missing , BCM doesn't see it . So it think's your breaking into the vehicle. Did you try the passenger door to see if it will disable the alarm .

The factory service repair manual has a 23 step diagnostic procedure . An you would need a factory scan tool to find the correct fix.
Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
With a scan tool, observe the door key switch parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) security data list.
Does the scan tool display INACTIVE?

Locking the Vehicle Without Arming the System
Use one of the following procedures in order to lock the vehicle without arming the system:
• Procedure A -- Lock the vehicle using the manual door lock knobs. Close all the doors.
• Procedure B -- Close all the doors. Use the key or the power door lock switch in order to lock the door. The doors must be closed prior to locking the doors for this procedure.
Disarming the System
In the arm initiated mode, the following conditions are true:
• The security telltale is ON.
• The doors are open.
In order to disarm a system in the arm initiated mode, perform one of the following procedures:
• Press the power door lock switch to the UNLOCK position.
• Press the door unlock button on the key fob.
In order to disarm a system in the arm delay or the armed mode, perform one of the following procedures:
• Use the key in order to unlock one of the doors.
• Press the door unlock button on the key fob.
Deactivating the Alarm
In the alarm mode, the following conditions are true:
• The horns sound intermittently.
• The headlights and the park lamps are flashing.
In order to deactivate a system in the alarm mode, perform one of the following procedures:

• If the vehicle control module (VCM)/powertrain control module (PCM) receives a valid Passlock™ ignition key rotation.

The 2000 Dodge Intrepid is equipped with an alarm system that is triggered when unauthorized entry is attempted. In some situations, such as having the Intrepid valet parked or when it is being serviced by a mechanic, the alarm system needs to be disarmed so it doesn't go off. Depending on the alarm system, there may be a valet button under the dash on the driver's side near the stearing column. You will need to put your key in the ignition, turn the key to the on position and then press the button in.

Try "cycling the key in the passenger door lock. Turn it all the way to the right and all the way to the left.

Replace the battery in th key fob to allow you to deactivate the alarm system. Use a small thin edged screw driver to pop open the cover on the fob to replace the battery.

Followed your recommendation of holding the valet (red) button for 6 seconds. It deactivated the alarm system and I was able to start the vehicle. This solution saved me from buying another key from the dealership (139$) and a programming charge of (100$). And not to mention the time saved from towing the vehicle to the dealership. I can't thank you enough for time and money saved with this valuable service. Will be signing up with your service when I get back from Orlando.

On internet there is a manule, disarm the Anti-Theft system. Check door and trunk switches re-engage system.

OK well there might bee a key hole either in one of the door frames or in the glove box in witch you can use your key to deactivate the alarm and all the rest
the key hole will be covered up by a rubber or plastic cap so it is not visible
