If you call a Honda dealer with the VIN,they will normally provide the unlock code for free.If they want an outrageous amount,$100+,google radio unlock codes on the web. There are many sites which will do it for $10-$15.Good luck! Greg

Theradio/tape/cd no longer works. I confirmed that it has 12 volts to the connector. Is there an anti-theft code that shut it down when the voltage was interrupted during the battery change?

Sounds like it needs the code inputting, mine did the same. Now, what the code is?????
Maybe if you post the make and serial number on here someone may be able to help. It maybe written down in your manual etc.

Please help me to get the code number to unlock the radio for honda crv 2003

    • 1 Look in your owner's manual booklet for your radio anti-theft code. The code is printed on a small card (similar to a credit card) and included with your owner's manual. If you can find the code, skip to Step 5.
If you cannot find the code, you'll need to retrieve it.
    • 2 Turn your ignition off to begin retrieving your radio code. Press and hold the "1" and "6" preset buttons on your radio. Turn your ignition on.
    • 3 Write down the code displayed on your radio. The display will flash with two numbers: one beginning with a "U" and one beginning with a "L." Write down both numbers (beginning with the "U" number), and then disregard the "U" and the "L."
This number (eight digits) is your radio serial code. You'll need it to retrieve your radio anti-theft code.
    • 4 Contact Honda to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. You'll need your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number, found beneath the driver's side of the windshield and your radio serial code. Honda's customer service number is (800) 999-1009. Provide the representative with the information to acquire your radio anti-theft code.
You can also retrieve your radio anti-theft code online for free at https://radio-navicode.honda.com/
    • 5 Turn your ignition to "Acc" or "On" to power on your radio. Enter your radio anti-theft code using the preset buttons at the bottom of your radio. For example, if your anti-theft code is "55512," you would press the "5" button three times, then the "1" button, then the "2" button. This will unlock and reset your Honda radio.

My radio in my 2003 CRV says Error E. I can't use the radio, tape or CD player. What is the problem?

you need to call the dealer and ask them for a security code to unlock your radio if it is stock. it is an anti-theft solution that dealers had installed into the radios to keep people from being able to use the radio if it is stolen.

I can't turn on my radio the dispaly says THEFT

I'm guessing that you disconnected the battery recently! but if you contact your dealer they can pull the code for you, you may have to take it to them so they can connect the scan tool and get the code that way!

2002 Ford Explorer CD player error

First get a CD Lens Cleaner and try it; if not, disconnect the negative lead from your car battery for about 10 min. BUT! Unless you have the radio code make sure you car radio doesn’t have a anti-theft system; if after this few steps still nothing you have to send it to an electronics repair shop (the CD Lens is bad).

The battery died on my 2001 eclipse, now the radio only says ''off''?

This is the anti-theft device on your factory radio. When the battery died, the radio thought it had been removed from your car and went into anti-theft mode. When you turned the car back on, the radio should have read "CODE" on the display, at which point you need to enter the factory anti-theft code. After 3 failed attempts at entering the code, it will simply read "OFF" and the radio is locked.

At this point:
- find your factory anti-theft code - it should be in your owner's manual, or you can contact a dealer to retrieve it
- turn the key to the ACC position (radio and accessories on, but engine is off)
- turn on the radio so the display reads "OFF"
- let the car sit for 1 hour
- radio will turn off automatically and reset
- turn the radio on again, and it should read "CODE"
- enter the factory anti-theft code

Make sure you have the code before starting the procedure. To enter the code, use the radio preset buttons. For example, if your code is "4321", hit Preset #1 button four times, Preset #2 three times, Preset #3 two times, and Preset #4 one time. Then hit the "Tape" or "CD" button. Radio should now be unlocked.

98 acura tl radio works but cd player has a cdpe-0 code

Most of the time that code is related to either a burned music cd being used. Its not every burned cd that causes it ,but there are some brands of cd's that are actually physically thicker than than a normal cd or some writables.belaeve it ir not this causes the cd to beunreadable by acura radio.once error code is set radio needs reset(pull battery cable for 30sec or so,reconnect)you will need anti theft radio code to re-enter into radio so be sure you have it,if not you would s/n off radio and any acura dealer con use s/n to retrive radio code from honda.note:if same cd is used again stereo you'll be back to square one again.GoodLuck
