SOURCE: Need exact procedure for removing
Leave the fan belt in place and it will hold the pulley and fan in so you are able to remove the large nut that is behind the fan

What you are seeing is the water pump (often mistaken as an idler pulley). It is a very simple change. Remove the belt, loosen the two bolts on the water pump ("diamond shape with pulley on front"), pull the water pump out, and reverse steps. You may want to drain your coolant into a very clean or new bucket first or you will loose good coolant when you pull out the pump. Once water pump is in place, replace belt and your good to go. Tools needed : Belt removal tool or 3/8 inch drive/ratchet with extra long hangle or cheater bar, and i believe a 10 or 13 mm socket for the pump. NAPA carrys a lifetime warranty pump...i suggest it.

you can either remove the steering pump to gain access,if there is no holes in PS pump pulley, you can rent a pulley puller....can be a ***** to get in and use them though....I will drill a hole in it for next time whenever I replace a pump on cars without ....
