2001 ford taurus Have a constant leak oil light has been on for weeks 3 days ago car would not turn on went to auto advance to get the battery check; replace battery car still shut off, permenantly f

There are some simple kits which have a glowing fluid which can be seen with a UV ultraviolet light supplied in the kit.

You add the glowing liquid to the engine, run the motor, and inspect the drips for the leak location. Then you fix that bad part.

Now sometimes the sending units do leak. But any gasket or seal can leak just as well.

Do not run the engine with the oil light on. Check your oil level constantly. No oil=no engine.

Can not speculate on battery problem from info provided.

Gas and Theft light comes on when pressing the break.

Cluster warning lights

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

Oil light

The good news: a ford dealer can make you a new key. The bad news, that oil light coming on when the engine is warm, is an indication that you have low oil pressure when the oil gets hot and thin. This is usually an indication that the rod and /or main bearings are about to fail. This pretty much means you need a new (or used) engine. There is an off chance that the oil pressure sender has gone out of calibration and is turning on the light prematurely, but this is rare. The correct way to check this, would be to hook up an oil pressure gauge and let the engine get hot, then compare the readings against specs. Your shop should have done this. Failing that, you could gamble the price of an oil pressure sender and see if the light stays off. If not, put heavier oil in and drive it till she dies because repairing the problem is probably more expensive than a good used engine.

MY INFORMATION DISPLAY DIAPPEARED

If you believe it genuinely happened at the oil change center, then I would tell the manager or boss that they have to repair it by law without charging you a single penny.

I had my Oil Changed at a National Oil Change location...My car is a 2008 Taurus, so it has a RESET for the CHANGE OIL indication display... When I left the place, I noticed I COULDN'T SEE THE INFORMATION...

Most cars have a dimmer switch located next to the steering wheel and it can be turned unknowingly when working around the wheel. Look for yours and see if this is your problem. I had this happen to me when I sent my eclipse to the repair shop and the whole dash was dim, it took me about 2 weeks before I stumbled onto this switch. Good luck.

No owners manuel

I have a 2003 taurus and in my manual it showed this had something to do with the ABS system and if you need brakes or put over sized tires on then what the factory recommends it will cause this ABS light to come on
and for Guest's response has same problem yours is the sensor and that comes from most times slamming the doors you will have to find where the sensor is located find someone that has a taurus simalar to yours and listen to the click in the dash on drivers side and you will be close
