2004 Chevy Venture with 124000 miles has been a great van,no problems for 6 years, until recently, every shift is hard, never had this trouble on any vehicle I have owned, maybe I am lucky. The transmission was serviced at 65000 miles and the fluid looks good.

How much trouble is it to replace the, electronis automatic transmission shift and torque converter solenoids on my, 1999 chevy venture van, 3.4 litre engine

You need to remove the oil pan from the trans and then you can get to the solenoids. It's not too hard just time consuming and a bit messy.

My 2005 Chevy Venture transmission shifts hard (1 to 2 and 2 to 3) once it is warm. I just changed the fluid and filter one month ago and the problem went away but came back this week. I was told it...

I know that it may be hard to let go of a vehical, but sometimes a vehical gets to a point that it may just be easier to get a new vehical instead of worrying with this problem. This problem is not going to stop at $500 more than likely. I would recommend www.autotrader.com to buy and sell your vehical. I hope this helps. You could always keep repairing it as well, but I would go this route. Please rate 4 thumbs up!

97 venture 4 speed electronic transmission not shifting into 4th

4th clutch hub splines are stripped off. GM didn't harden the splines until 2004 or so so the early model gradually wear to the point where they are so thin they strip off - and then, no 4th gear

Trans fliud leaking from vent tube

Hi, It seems to me all the problems with this tranny are electrical related, that tranny has about four solonoids, for shifting, line pressure, etc, I would have it scanned for trouble codes, I have the same van but am having trouble with hard shifting, also soloniod problem. hope this helps.

Has the 'Check Engine' light come on? I had this problem at 30,000 miles and the trouble codes set were transmission component slipping. Ultimately required replacement of the transmission.
