My 2000 chevy venture just started this and I took it in to get looked at...it is the Pressure silnoid. And it happens when the van gets warm. The cost is up to $1200
I know that it may be hard to let go of a vehical, but sometimes a vehical gets to a point that it may just be easier to get a new vehical instead of worrying with this problem. This problem is not going to stop at $500 more than likely. I would recommend www.autotrader.com to buy and sell your vehical. I hope this helps. You could always keep repairing it as well, but I would go this route. Please rate 4 thumbs up!
change it youll b fine i drive a 99 camaro with 165000 miles on it and i change my tranny fluid every 30000 miles if not comfortable doin that try slick 50 first
4th clutch hub splines are stripped off. GM didn't harden the splines until 2004 or so so the early model gradually wear to the point where they are so thin they strip off - and then, no 4th gear
Hi, It seems to me all the problems with this tranny are electrical related, that tranny has about four solonoids, for shifting, line pressure, etc, I would have it scanned for trouble codes, I have the same van but am having trouble with hard shifting, also soloniod problem. hope this helps.
Has the 'Check Engine' light come on? I had this problem at 30,000 miles and the trouble codes set were transmission component slipping. Ultimately required replacement of the transmission.
