I need a diagram for a 1999 Ford Mustang Idler pulley belt

I have an identical truck. You have 2 which includes the tensioner pulley and a stationary pulley on the other side of the front block. The tensioner can come with or without a pulley. There should be a sticker with the belt path indicated on it, usually around the radiator Just be careful to see that a few trucks did not have A/C and the belt path shows both types.

If you have a cellphone take a picture of the belt path before you take anything off.

Start with crank, to ps pump, to alternator, to upper idler arm,(back side of belt) to AC compressor, to lower idler pulley, to waterpump,(this will be on the back side of the belt) back to crank. The tension for the system is on the lower idler pulley under the AC compressor...hope this helps.

There is one pulley that is an idler pulley. Typically they are spring loaded. What you do is put a wrench on it and that loosens the belt.
BUT, take the time to make an accurate diagram of the belt routing before you start, and note which pulleys have the belt going over it backwards (ribs out).

Go to the parts store and buy a bracket and idler pulley asy to bypass the a/c cannot just reroute the belt

you can change it by releasing tension on the pulley arm(as if changing the belt) and then unsecuring the idler arm pulley by means of a large bolt in the center of the pulley, usually reverse threaded. Pulleys cost about 10 bucks, but good bearings don't come cheap.
