Turn signals not working --- 2001 Cherokee Limited

Hi....... the emergency flashers works, so I know the bulbs are okay...but suddenly today my turn signals are not flashing, and I don;t even see the indicator lights on the dash nor do I hear the usual "click-click-click" when the turn signal switch is in position. My first idea is to check the fuse for the circuit. If the fuse is okay, what should I check next?

I have a similar problem but the turn signals work for a couple minutes and then the fuse burns out. I must have a short in my wiring somewhere but I dont know where to start to solve this problem.

Check the flasher under the dash to the left of the steering column. It's got about 8 or 10 wires plugged into it.

Ok if its not the flasher module the problem will lay with the steering colum or dash hazzard signal switch this has been a random problem with some of my vehicles the hazzard switch is directly connected to the turn signals replace hazzard switch

or the turn signal lever inside column has sheered or worn down turn signal points from use this will require to pull steering column apart and replaceing the the turn signal gear point its just a flat piece of plastic with solder points on it with the wires running to the flasher
i recommend certified tech doing this work

I have replaced the combination switch and the flasher on my 2001 Kia spectra and the turn signals still don't work. The emergency flashers work but not the turn signals..what am I missing?

Check the fuses. And some cars have a separate flasher for the turn signals and separate flasher for the hazards. Also make sure the correct bulbs are in your lights. Incorrect bulbs can cause the flasher to take a long time to kick in

No turn signal left or right but emergency flashers work great

either a bad bulb or flasher unit. Check owners manual for the location of the flasher. Very inexpensive and easy to replace if the bulb is not the problem

Both of the rear turn signals stopped working at the same time, but everything else seems to work. Do you know what can cause this to happen? I changed one of the bulbs and it didn't work.

There is a turn signal flasher under dash...most have a flasher for the emergency signals and one for the turn signals...some have one flasher....but check fuses first...normally it is fuse burnt...if you can locate the flasher normally they will get abnormally warm when bad......it should look like a round or square silver shiney or black cube.........if these are good with ign.on hold turn signal lever down firmly ...if it works replace turn signal unit.....if none of this works you have to troubleshoot wiring...
...normally yellow wire is left turn and green wire is right turn...black or white is ground red is stop light....but normally it is a blown fuse or flasher.

these cars are common for bad signal light switchs, try lightly moving lever up and down while signal is on,see if it starts working,BUT FRIST MAKE SURE FLASHER IS OKAY. ( there are 2 flashers one for hazard lamps and one for signal lamps.

1997 Chevy Tahoe both turn signals stopped working

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

Blinkers not working

Did you check the bulbs? If one bulb is burned out, the blinkers won't word on that side. You could have one bulb burned out on each side. Start the car, put left signal on. Check front and back lights. Is one light on but not blinking? If that's the case, the light that's not on at all is burned out and has broken the circuit so the good light stays on and won't blink. Check the other side. You also have a 'flasher' , actually 2. One for emergency flashers, one for the turn signals. It could be that the turn signal flasher is shot. You just have to unplug it to remove. It's probably located near the fuses. good luck countrycurt0
