Front drivers side wheel shakes excessively when brakes are applied, has newer rotors and pads,so I know the brakes are fine. Any ideas?

Warped rotor, this would also cause the steering wheel to shake back and forth.

If when applying the brakes the steering wheel shakes then your front rotors are warped and at the least need resurfaced and most likely the brake pads replaced. But more likely the rotors are too thin which has allowed them to overheat and warp which causes the shaking. In this case new rotors and pads are in order. If when braking tou feel the shaking in the seat of your pants then most likely the rear brakes are the issue. Same problem as the front, warpage, but your rear brakes are most likely drums. Again, possible resurfacing and new shoes; but more likely new drums and brake shoes.

But I wonder? Did this vibrating just start all of a sudden or maybe after a near accident requiring you to brake very heavily and possibly overheat the brakes. Or my main concern, to keep this from happening again, after pulling some type of trailer that you intend on pulling again. Pulling a trailer without its own brakes puts a much heavier load on your trucks brakes and just repairing them won't keep it from happening again if you ARE pulling a trailer. Higher quality rotors/pads/drums/ and brake shoes can help but if the trailer is too heavy for the truck nothing but installing brakes on the trailer or a lighter trailer will stop you from warping them again.

Lastly, in general when you let off the gas and the whole vehicle shakes the driveshaft/u-joints are common causes. Same with the steering wheel if it shakes when letting off the gas, but only on a 4x4 or AWD vehicle. So check your driveshafts and u-joints and make sure they are tight. But unless you find something obvious there I would wait until you have the brakes sorted out and see if that doesn't stop all the shaking.

you have a rotor that needs turned or replaced,it is out of true from heat,hopefully when pads were put on the caliper slides were cleaned and greased

This is caused by the front disk brake rotors being warped from heat and running out of true, the wobble of the warped rotors causes the wheel to shake when you apply the brakes, it is worse the higher the speed you apply them at. Have the front rotors machined flat again or just replace them.

Could be a number of problems. Here are a few.

Defective Brake Pads

Brake pads that are defective and/or incorrectly installed can, over time, cause brake rotors to warp and become damaged. Brake pads are responsible for squeezing against the spinning brake rotor, an action that causes a vehicle to slow down or stop. If the brake pads are bent, misshapen in any way, or aligned and/or installed abnormally, they can exert abnormal pressure on the brake rotors, a condition that can cause brake rotor warpage over time.

Excessive Heat

A vehicle's braking system generates a tremendous amount of friction-related heat, heat that normally gets radiated away from the brake pads and brake rotor mechanisms. However, in cases where excessive heat is generated within a braking system and not dispersed adequately, serious brake malfunctions can occur, which can include brake rotor warpage. A stuck brake caliper, old, worn-down brake pads, or a defective brake rotor can cause excessive heat to develop in or around a brake rotor, which can cause brake rotor damage and warpage.

Damanged Wheel Hub Spindle

A brake rotor assembly is supported by and rides on a long, slender metal tube called a hub, or wheel hub assembly. The hub is what allows for the smooth, even circular motion of the spinning brake rotor. Designed with a smooth, low-friction exterior, the wheel hub assembly is critical to the proper spinning motion of the brake rotor. Any abnormalities or defects with the wheel hub assembly, including hub warpage, cracking or misalignment, can cause abnormal brake rotor rotation, which in turn can cause brake rotor warpage over time. Normally, a damaged wheel hub assembly is noticed and remedied prior to extensive brake rotor damage, as a severely damaged wheel hub assembly will cause a vehicle tire to wobble and shake.

May have a leaking right front caliper thats not applying evenly with the left.Look at the front wheels for excess brake dust.The left wheel should have more dust then the right.Also front left rotor may be pitted causing more friction and excess grabbing on the left.Any brake shop will pull the wheel off and inspect the rotor for free.Dont let them try to sell you two rotors or calipers if only one is bad.Replacing both right and left brake pads is OK

Brake rotors have excessive runout causing your problem. Have rotors machined true or replace rotors to correct problem.

Sounds like you have bad brake pads or rotors ..if you are not mechanical take them in somewhere ......if the brake pads are left too long the metal will wear away the rotors and then it all needs to be replaced....hopefully just the pads need replacing but it sounds like if it is shaking that bad rotors are gone too. usually the pads will make a sqeaking sound when the get to worn so you know that they need replacing.
