I have a 1994 Chev. C1500 2wd P/U 5.7 liter V8. Runs fine during daytime when good weather. At night or if there is a change in the weather such as rain, the truck stalls when stopping at a stop sign or stop light, and is very sluggish, acting like it will stall especially going up an incline in the road, the more the incline, the less power the truck has. I have replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, and M.A.P. Sensor. After replacing the M.A.P, Sensor it ran better during daytime, but at night it began the same problems of being sluggish while driving and stalling at stop signs. The check engine light came on and the diagnostic codes indicated the engine is running lean with no other codes indicating any other possible problems. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

Test the fuel pressure. With gauge connected to the fuel rail turn key on, listen for pump, when it stops, turnthe key off and leave gauge connected for an hour. The original reading should been 50lbs., if it drops any more than a couple of pounds the pump is bad. The M.A.P. sensor sounds like it was another item in itself.

1995 Ford Mustang GT V8. Why do my dim headlights not work?

" dim headlights "? None of your lights should be 'dim'. You have 4 lights.

Side Lights.
Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Low Beam Headlights.
High Beam Headlights.

Here are the fuses, check fuse 5 and D although they covers more items than lights. Your best bet is to find a good local auto-electrician.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the ignition coil. If the ignition coil gets hot the car may stall or may not start right away till it cools down. The ignition coil is surely faulty and replacement is surely necessary.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi Tim,
Please check that there is no leakage in your water cooling system. If there is leakage, it causes the engine to heat up and burnup the gasket. You need to make sure your thermostat is also reset properly depending on the weather condition in Maine.

Pontiac vibe headlights come on when its cold

Remove the fuse labeled ECU-B from the fuse panel inside the vehicle. The instrument panel fuse block is located underneath the instrument panel on the driver's side of the car. This will disable to Daytime Running Lights. These have been known to come on at odd times during cold weather and thus drain the battery. Disconnect the battery and have it fully charged using a battery charger that you plug in to your homes electric supply, or replace the battery with a new one. This should keep the Daytime Runners from coming on and draining your battery when the car is not on. Once you have done this you can then take the vehicle to a service location and have the issue taken care of. This is only a band-aid so you can limp through until you can get it fixed. This is not a permenant solution.
