I had the same problem on my 04 XC90 - apparently it is a common failure... You need to replace a Siren module.

I also have a 2004 xc90 and found out that when i use one set of keys where the lithium battery is not fully engaged with the keys, the message comes up...Eaxch time i use the other set of keys, no message shows up...U may want to start by changing your key battery b4 looking into the siren module which will set u back $$$$.....

The siren fails when the batteries short out due to water infiltration into the unit which is found under the right front fender and above the wheel. Appears to be yet another design failure of Volvo. This failure will also deactivate the Upper Electronic Module that controls the sun roof.

Replace volvo xc90 alarm

Madelin,

The main alarm system box is located in the right front fender. To access it you have to remove (drill out) the rivets holding the plastic wheel well cover in place under the fender. It is common for the battery in the alarm to die (and subsequently leak) rendering the alarm inoperative. For that reason it is probably not a good idea to buy a used alarm of the same age. Note, you should be able to buy the replacement rivets in a kit from Volvo.

04 volvo xc90 Moonroof will not open. The fuse is good so why will it not open? Also, would this have anything to so with the alarm service notice.

probably the siren module is bad. Moonroof is conected with alarm, and if alarm goes bad, moonroof won-t work. Check out fuses 26 and 28.

I had my alarm system service required how i know that is the siren? also i have service need i all ready did the service how to reset the it?

The person(s) who serviced your alarm should be able to tell you if you have siren or horn type.. We have NO idea what alarm system you have..Volvo has many alarm systems. Ti reset you service light you need an OBII scanner - You can have any good shop or auto parts store do it for you.

What does a message alarm system service required means on my 2004 volvo xc90?

It means that the vehicle diagnostic system has detected a faulty alarm component and must be diagnosed and fixed.

At best it just means that your alarm is partially or wholly non-functional, at worst it could activate at random or even cause the immobiliser to play up.

Unless you have specialist skills and tools then it's not really a DIY fix unless the fault is a really obvious one, like a failed door switch.

''Transmission service ugent'' what do I do?

With all due respect, you clearly lack the skills or knowledge to diagnose and fix this yourself or you would not be asking here.

Just do what the message is telling you and get the vehicle to a repair garage promptly, preferably a Volvo main dealer. The longer you delay, the bigger the final repair bill as this won't fix itself.

Dtc p0345

P0345 IGNITION SYSTEM OR MISSFIRE Several causes can provoke this code, from a bad knock sensor, to a broken injector regulator, better to take it to a certified mechanic to have it diagnosed step by step otherwise you can spend a lot of $$$ changing "probable" broken parts till you find the one causing the yellow light.
