I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota 3.9 v-6 It dies while driving and at the light and it sometimes start right away and other times it takes 15mins. Replaced the brain twice ,replaced the pick-up coil, all spark plug and wires,fuel injection fueled .change oil and oil filter . Please help

Have you relapced the fuel pump and filter? Take it to a garage and have the fuel pump pressure checked. It very common for fuel pumps or a clog in the line to cause this.

To much difference between 04 and 97. To use an 04 ECM, you need the trucks complete wiring harness. Then you would have to change the transmission also. You better get in line to sue him also..
I had the same problem and i had to replace the whole the key and tumbler and the out part where the tumbler goes in and it fixed that problem. you can kind of play with the key and see how far you have to turn the key and it will go over to far and if it stops to soon it is not sending that key is in right spot so no fire
Check for any stored codes, on 97 models you may have to turn on the key without starting the engine, do this 5 times in rapid order then stop with the key in the on position without starting the car.
The service engine soon light will blink
Count the number of blinks
This will be the begining of the code test and the actual code numbers and finally a code number stating the test is over.
Look up the codes in the haynes repair manual and it will lead you in the right direction for any parts that have thrown an error code.
turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose,make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position,see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.
