C70 Volvo 2001 convertible top stop midway when trying to put the top up. It is as if the motor stop once the top secured to the froont windshield. The back would not come down and secure and the windows did not go up at the end of the cycle.

One of the microswitches at the latches is not engaging stopping the cycle for safety reasons in case something is stuck, open the roof again and inspect the latch down areas for foreign objects or a misaligned microswitch.

Where is the volvo c70 crankshaft position sensor
Try the front of back of the crankshaft. I think they only put them on the front because of the transmisson. Then possibility of oil contamining it if its has a TC but if you have a timing belt try under that housing.
