I am trying to remove the oil pan on my sedona.I removed all the bolts that were holding it and the oil pan came loose. However there is something that prevents it from coming all the way off. I took the small oil pan off but it still the pan would not come off. How am I supposed to get it off?

The oil pump may be the cause. You will have to shimmy & maneuver, gently around the oil pump pick up arm which may be holding u back.

SOURCE: Removal of oil pan?

The car has three mounts in a triangle configuration. The front trans mount, the passenger side motor mount and the rear motor mount. I do not know if anyone has ever successfully raised the engine to slide the pan out, but remember, if you do this, the pan goes back on with anaerobic gasket maker on it, so make sure you can slide it out with grating on the underside of the block. If you can't, then it will likely be impossible to get back in place without smearing the gasket maker all over and making a heck of a mess. The commonly accepted way to remove the pan is to remove the two front subframe bolts and allow the subframe to drop enough to get the clearance you require. The bolts are 18 mm heads and are really torqued on there so you will need a serious breaker bar and cheater bar to go with it. USE SOLID JACKSTANDS or BETTER YET, RAMPS to do this. The force you will need to apply can take the car right off a single jack.

How do i change the transmisson filter on my 2002 Kia Sedona or can i.

Buy filter and transmission pan gasket, (small bottle of Indian head)..
- unbolt the couple of dozen or so bolts the hold the tranny pan.
- leave about 6 bolts loose (2front, 2 middle, 2back
-get your used oil receptacle ( bigger the better)
- there's about 3qts of ATF on the pan you must drain carefully
- remove the 2 bolts left on the front so that your tilting the pan to drain the ATF
- Remove tranny pan and old gasket
- the fileter is just pressure press( check your shift solenoids for loose ground wires and cracks on the wires(
-remove filter and clean old gasket remains stuck on transmission and tranny pan
- try not gauging the transmission if you used a blade(I used a torch)
- press new filter on the pump pick up hole(reverse of removal)
- used the Indian head gasket shellac to help you keep the new gasket in place(put some of the bolts tru to aid you with lining the gasket
- hand tightened the pan bolts crisscross pattern, make sure it's even when it goes back
- TORQUE to specs, blah blah blah woop ti do, yuz freaking done
- refill the ATF about 3 qts
- let it rest cool down for like a hour, check your atf fluid cold and hot
- Not rocket science ( advisable to change transmission filter every 20k miles or after 4 oil chages) depending on the manufacturer. Good luck...

How do I change my oil pan gasket on my 95 ford Thunderbird, thank you first time car owner

Lift your car and place on jack stands. Then drain engine oil from pan. If there is/are any other steering or suspension components under oil pan, remove these first. Then, begin removing all bolts that hold pan in place. There should be a few bolts that come from the rear of the transmission section that also hold engine oil pan. Remove these. Once all bolts are removed, use a rubber mallet to tap oil pan until is breaks loose. If hard to remove, use a pry bar or flat head screw driver to pry oil pan off. Install in reverse order.

How to replace an oil pan gasket on a toyota corrolla 2007?

remove anything in the way of the oil pan that won`t allow it to be lowered. drain the oil, then remove the oil pan holding bolts and you might have to hit the oil pan to get it loose and lower the pan. clean surfaces on the motor and oil pan of gasket material and oil on the gasket matting surfaces install new gasket to pan and install. torque the bolts to 10ft lbs torque I think or until the bolts are tight but the gasket is not being pushed out from between two surfaces.

What is the proper steps to remove oil pan

In most vehicles you will have to raise or remove the engine to get enough clearance to remove the oil pan.
Drain the oil out of the pan.
Remove the bolts holding the pan in place.
Carefully pry the pan loose so you don't bend or distort it.

I have a 1996 chrysler cirrus 2.4 liter dohc 4 cylinder engine that needs the oil pan replaced. i have removed all things but the lower engine support because even after all bolts were removed the mount...

You need to hold the engine on a trolley jack by lifting it on the oil pan itself to then undo the engine mount. Once the mount is removed lower the jack, remove the remaining pan bolts and then remove the pan proper. Refitting is a matter of fitting the pan with some of the bolts, loosely, to then lift the engine a little with the jack to refit the mount, followed by fitting the remaining pan bolts and tightening. Its a matter of just doing things in a certain order but it is easy enough when you do that.

Removal of Oil pan

did you try giving it a gentle smack with a rubber hammer? these pans are usually glued on with silicone and will not just fall off after unbolting... sometimes you need to get something like a paint scraper and slide it between block and rail to seperate the two.
