I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that i bought for off roading and it has 200,000 miles on it. It seems to be restricting some of the power to the wheels. what could i do to increase power to the wheels?

There will be slippage in the transmission of any vehicle. Do you have larger than original wheels and tires for this off roading which would aggravate the situation further?

Do you think that the transmission is slipping or the differential is more to blame?

I doubt the problem is timing. If that were the case, it would have the same miss at road speed.

Vdc and slip remains on

The VDC can be reset by driving on a road straight for a few miles. It's best to use a big highway. My parents have a pathfinder, went to have the battery changed out and the Nissan dealer could not help them get it off. But after a little searching, it states to drive for about 1 mile without turns or braking. It has went off and hopefully it will work for you.

vehicle shuts down while driving down road and does not start backup for at least 20 minutes, could be a bad crank sensor. if bad it will start and run fine, but it will keep shutting down until fixed.
