Hi,

Does not sound like a turbo lag or a boost issue. Might you want to check on your intake manifold or turbo in/out attachments specially the clamps for leaks. In some instances a defective (torn) air filter could also cause this.

Of course it would be best to consult an onsite qualified professional as it may have to do with your engine mapping.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

2003 saturn vue 4 cyl won't go faster than 50mph

Are there any other symptoms? Is the engine light on? If so, please have the codes read. Is the engine raising when you try traveling over 50mph? If so, this could be a transmission issue. Does the exhaust sound restricted or do you smell an odd burning smell? If the exhaust is restricted it sounds like high pressure air being forced through a small hole or a louder than normal vacuum leak sound. How old is the fuel filter? A clogged filter will reduce engine performance and will cause lose of power, surging and stalling. I hope this helps but please write back if you have more questions or diagnostic information. Good Luck.

2001 Sebring Wont start unless gas pedal pressed down. Just keeps turning over until I press the gas with the key turned then it starts. Check engine light is on.

First, go to AutoZone, Big A or any chain autoparts store, most have free CEL code reading, that will tip you off in the right direction.

Sounds like you have a EVAP issue, and the fuel system is losing fuel pressure, so when you press the gas, you are calling for more fuel allowing it to pressurize faster. Instead on quickly turning the key on, turn it to ACC (Lights and chime) wait 5 sec, then try to start. Most cars will start the fuel pump and pressurize the system for a quick start.

Also check if you smell gas around the car.

My car won't turn oer it cranks but won't start

THe problem is that there is no fuel due to fuel dirty fuel filter. When you are at constant speed as 50 mph, you don't have to press gas pedal to much requiring instant fuel. However every time you need to press the pedal, you can experience this problem. Now it is really clogged up ,so fuel is not delivered to the fuel distributor so it can't start. Need to replace fuel filter.

The car seems like it is not getting gas to the engine...will go about 55-60 by flooring the gas pedal. It jumps/shakes. Help!!

Check the turbo and Turbo intake hose. I've got the same problem and it comes up with a broken turbo pipe leaking the pressure necessary to provide power. Possible is too the blocked air filter and/or fuel filter.

2000 chevy impala rattling or knocking noise when turning over is quite loud and does it a little when shut off. maybe a main bearing.car is beautiful and just ticked over 100k never driven over 50mph...

See...I could hear it from here!!! Sometimes its worth the time and $ to have a shop do that job....been in the business far longer than I probably should have been and still won't do that or a trans job in the yard unless it's a dire emergency. It's just so much faster and easier doing the job standing up!!!!
Good luck with your car!!!!!

Slow acceleration, high rpm

This sounds normal to me! The engine will read that rpm when accerlerating lightly. It is the stall of the torque convertor. The oil pressure will always be higher when the rpm's are higher, or when the oil is thicker - cold.

Virbration? That is a different story. Oil won't cause that.
