You can locate your master brake cylinder by looking for a very wide cylindrical shaped object on the driver's side of the engine bay, towards the rear of vehicle.
Check fan sensor and sender units . Check that the radiator fins are in good condition and are not blocked, Check radiator cap is fitted correctly and is working properly. Check coolant level.
sounds like your brake lining light. It means your brakes have worn below specification. The light to me kinda looks like a yellow circle with two dashes on one side and two on the other and they follow the curvature of the circle. On an x3 you can get a pretty good view of the brake pads looking through the wheel.
the round oval shaped object in question should be the canister where your oil filter goes ,yes there is a gasket on the inside that may have been broke or left off on your last oil change

1. open the hood and look on the right side top for a triangle shaped box. It will say a bunch of fuses - like "Anti-Theft." Take out the anti theft fuse.
2. have someone (or a stick) to compress the clutch
3. have someone (or a stick) put some pressure on the gas.
4. make an electronical connection (using a screw driver or something of that sort) between two screws on the starter. - Starter is a cylinder shared object with the screws on the right side. It is on the ride/middle half way down. - the far screw will have a rubber slip that you can pull back.
