2000 GMC Jimmy 4.3L CSEFI won't crank. Fuel pressure is 50psi and should be between 55 to 60psi. Fuel filter 1yr old and fuel pump is probably stock & needs replaced but never had problem before replacing injection system. Not getting any solenoid/starter or cranking noise. So could low fuel pressure cause a no crank condition? Parts replaced: lower & upper intake gaskets, new spider injection assembly, new starter/solenoid, new crank sensor new starter relay switch . Major tune up 1yr old, included fuel filter. Battery 2yrs old and alternator checked out.

Check your starter and check your connections to make sure they are clean and tight. The low fuel pressure won't cause a no crank. Too low could cause a no start but not a no crank. I've had starters be bad right out of the box. But if that starter motor isn't turning either the starter motor is bad or the solenoid attached or the wiring to it is at fault.

you say fuel pressure is good, but what is it? what is the fuel pressure when it stalls out? Spec is 60-66 psi and it wont run if its 55 psi. the fuel pump relay should be good if the pump runs. Make sure the ground for the pump is good , G402 should be on left frame rail. you may have had it off to replace the pump? maybe? it may be time to stop guessing and have a repair shop diagnose it for you. You sure have replaced a lot of good parts.

Replace the fuel filter first. When you turn the key on, the fuel pump should run for a few moments, then turn off. If it keeps running, then replace the pump as well. Suggest having the fuel system pressure checked at the engine itself. Hope this helps!

1998 jimmy 4.3 fuel pressure leaks down over a few hours

Have you tried a new fuel filter, otherwise, or in addition you may have to have the fuel pressure tested to see what the pump condition is.

1996 GMC JIMMY won't start

I think 54 p.s.i. on fuel pressure is close to border line, Are the injectors pulsating, You can have fire at the plugs but if injectors are not pulsating it will not run. I know there were problems with the injections systems on blazers and jimmys around that year, i would look closer to the injection system.

the fuel pressure if leaking could cause this the regulator is located under the intake plenum but you should smell gas .if you dont then most likely the pump is bad ,the pump will come on for 2 seconds when the key is on then go off it will not stay on with just the key on only when you crank it will it .so have your fuel pressure checked with a gauge.

When you hook the pressure test guage to shrader valve on fuel rail what it reads is what the pressure is from pump, around 60 p.s.i. all you need to do is hook up the guage and turn on key, you do not have to turn engine over, and if pump is good it will shoot up to 58 or 60 right now.
