Trying to replace the headlight of my Saab 9-3 year 2001

If it is anything like the 9-5 Saab it is probably the relay in the black relay box under the hood. It is a large orange one on the 9-5. Should be able to locate from diagram on relay box lid if yours is not orange. Real cheap fix. Can get relays on eBay.

Sounds like your starter motor is bad. Is the starter motor spinning?

2001 saab sometimes start, sometmes not..smoking under the hood.

I have been driving my SAAB 9-5 with an engine light on for 3 years. I consistently get 29mpg average so I don't worry about it. I just change the oil, check the fluid levels and keep going. It is probably an O2 sensor and until your gas mlg suffers, I wouldn't. The dealer will hit you with a $90 diagnostic fee no matter what.

Could be the circuit board on the back of the tailight... check that first

May sound a little stupid im just trying to cover all bases but have you made sure the car is unlocked. If the car is locked then the fuel door will be locked.

Brakes are a user wear and can be replaced at most mechanic shops. Saab cannot by law I believe make repairing parts exclusive only too Saab Dealerships. Because what if Saab went out of business? Then you would have a car that is worthless. The government is trying to look out for us after-all!. I would suggest to find a local mom and pop shop that wont charge an arm and a leg and that would possibly give discounts after returning...

To replace the headlamp on a Saab 9-3, open the hood. Behind the headlamp there is a round black plastic cover; screw clockwise and pull back; there is a metal clip holding headlamp in place (9003 i believe is the halogen number). locate top of clip and move very slightly clockwise; the top will pivot down on a hinge; release the wire harness and pull out bulb. Retrace these steps to introduce the new bulb to your Saab.

there is this product called beam benders that fit on the headlight, that with change the beam.

Check the fuse box under the hood on drivers side, it will be number 17 and a 10 amp. this vehicle has automatic headlight adustment when you crank the car. If the fuse is blown the lights will point down to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.
