How do i unlock my 1992 cadillac deville door?i locked my keys in the car and im stranded at work. =(

I am not a big Cadillac guy but surely one of the doors (driver's) has a traditional keyway where you can simply unlock manually with the key?

if you can remove the door panel somehow to work on it or try your key first

1) Key turns but dose not unlock door. This means that the rod that goes to the back of the lock has came off. This also means that is the reason door is not unlocking with the remote as it pops the lock rod inside the door which pushes the lock open.
2) Key does not turn lock at all but works passengers side door. This means that the locks has been changed in the door, but that doesn't sound like the problem as you say the remote doesn't open the drivers side door so more than likely the rod has came off the back of the lock

Try spraying some liquid graphite into the door lock and keep trying to work the key to turn.

If it's like mine It's your security system, try unlocking the doors from your keyfob, then start it. It is a security feature to stop people from breaking a window, breaking lock then stealing your car. it will either wait 20 minutes, or you must unlock a door from the keyfob or by using a key in the outside lock, and not by the inside lock button.

You have to take the door key and go around to the passegner side front door and put the key in the door and then lock then unlock the door and that should shut off the alarm.

tow truck driver 60 bucks or a slim jim take off the boot in the door ****and look for broken wires dont be afraid to pull a bit

I am having the smae problem starting this week. Key fob has been broken for several months (and on a 2001 Cadillac you HAVE to go to dealer to program a new one.) So I've been using the key-- no problem.
FIrst thing others need to understand. The 2001 Deville has a key entry on the Driver's door ONLY-- not any other door. So you can't just go to anotger door.
Secondly-- I am trying my 'main' key, which admittedly has some wear. But I am also trying my "spare" key which has practically no wear at all-- so this is not an issue of a worn-out key. Both have worked fine in the past.

What happens is that the door lock all of a sudden will not let the key go all the way into the lock. YOu can feel it being stopped for the last 1/8 of an inch or so-- just enough so you can't turn the key in the door lock. Seems like some kind of messed up security feature. But all I know is I cannot get into my car, parked in my garage!

Sounds like the lock solenoid is bad inside the door.
