Replace hoses, fan issue is most likely a sensor (usually on radiator side) that controls on/off. If coolant is low it may not operate even if it is ok.
test by by-passing: 2 wire- bridge connections in connector
1 wire- ground contact

My coolent fans on my 1996 firebird are not working. we can get the fans to work by jumping them after removing them from the car. we do not think it is the relay switch. suggestions?

The fans run by a thermal switch separate from the temp guage. It is normally located on the rad. It has probably stopped working. Look around on the inside of the rad tanks and see if you can find a set if wires coming off a plug-in. It is likely near the bottom of the rad tank. Make sure you have a bucket handy when you pull it out, you will lose some coolant. Hope this helps.

Waterpump changed hoses changed rad light stays on; new tires wearing out someone said some type pf alignment problems with cateras is cost to fix really $1000?

the fill tank has a float inside that is stuck, before you get an alignment your probably gonna want 2 replace the control arm bushings first and check the tie rods, the 4 bushings cost me almost $400 from dealer plus you gotta have them pressed in

1997 4.0 jeep cherokee sport, replaced the upper and lower radiator hose to fix a leak, leak still there. What does the lower radiator hose fit on the engine block? that's what i need to fix. I also...

the lower rad hose goes to the water pump, as for the vibration it could be many things, tires, shockbushings, tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings, you will have to investigate further

Over heating on gauge, both fans on rad.

I would say check your coolant level, and change your thermostat. And see if it is high fans or low fans when they come on. There is a fan control relay down on the drivers side frame right under the air box that goes bad too if your fans arent working quite right to check if all else.

I have had a similar problem with my son's Accord. You are lucky that your son knew to stop immediately, this happened to my son and we ended up having the head rebuilt.

A leak may exist but not show up until there is adequate pressure or, you may have a blockage that caused excessive pressure.

We once had the radiator leak which was nearly undetectable in his Accord, check for moisture in the trough where the radiator sits by looking down the inboard side of the radiator with the hood up. You may need a flashlight. Radiators are available at auto parts stores for about $100 and easy to replace. Replace the thermostat, cap and as many hoses as you can at the same time.

Another problem we had was the radiator cap had come apart and leaked periodically.

If the thermostat stuck, this could have caused a temperature and pressure surge explaining the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't leak. A faulty fan, or fan switch could also cause a periodic temperature surge.

The leak could be coming from the thermostat housing which is on the passenger side of a 4 cyl engine, or from the upper or lower radiator hoses or the two heater hoses. The water pump is on the drivers side and connects to the thermostat housing through a metal pipe with O-ring seals.

Radiator leaking terribly (97 Grand Caravan, 3.8L)

Radiators with plastic top and bottom tanks have a limited life and if they leak it is usually terminal and will probably need to be replaced. Any radiator shop can pressure test your system. Replacement is not a huge job but radiators have become relatively expensive.
