I have the same problem kinda. Lost my master key and sent my ecu off with a home made 2 button key to program immobiliser. This key works to start the engin and drive but I cannot get the key to program with the alarm and locking system. You can try the following steps as may work for you.

I can get my car into programming mode after step 1 but step 2 does not work for me. The locks do not go off at all, not once or twice. Battery in remote key is fine as LCD lights red.

Can anyone help please?

Every 60days or so my Astra's key FOB quits working and when unlock the door manually and open it, the alarm horn goes off.

When was the key fob battery changed last?

Take it to a radio installer, car alarm specialist to check the operation of the fob, reprogramming and alarm system check.

The unlock button on key wont work, when i use the key to open door the alarm goes off. The car drives but doors lock when I am inside and alarm goes off when I get out?

Have you changed the battery over on the key fob? If you key doesn't have a battery in it, then the chip in the key may be bad or the key may need to be re-synced with the cars ignition module.

2003 malibu alarm won't stop

Well when you replaced the battery did anything else on the key fob work? Often times you have to reprogram the remote in order for it to function properly. Try getting inside the vehicle and manually lock all doors with the driver's side switch. Put the master key in the ignition switch and turn the switch to the run position but do not start it. Now push and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the locks make noise....may take 10 to 30 seconds. After you have the key fob programmed, see if the alarm will turn off with the remote. Did it work? The only way to totally turn off the alarm is with a GM Tech @ or 3 scan tool and go into body control bidirectional controlling procedures or with a very good aftermarket scanner with good bi-directional functionality.
The alarm works via the body control module on this vehicle and i am thinking it uses the PK2 system and if you do not have a properly coded key or the BCM is loosing memory, then check for any and every blown fuse and replace as needed.to start with.. If the vehicle stays running after starting then the bcm/key is reading correctly.
