I have a 2003 Tiburon. I cant open the driver side door. It will not unlock from the inside or outside. Its like its jamed. I can hear the lock moter trying to unlock it but it wont budge. Just makes alot of noise. WHAT CAN I DO?!!! I HATE MY CAR!!!

Remove the front seat can give you access to remove the panel. But if it has screws around the outer perimeter, most likely will have to tear it out. Best to find a replacement first. Look at the drivers door, if it has screws, so does the passenger side. There are screws around the arm rest and door handle to remove, then it pops off. Again the seat has to be out of the way.

You can do one thing, not sure if it would work, but try this:
1. Go to the drivers front door,
2. There should be a lock in the door, place the key in the lock.
3. Turn the key to one side or the other, by this time you should be able to hear a familiar sound, as when you unlock a door from the inside.

I can think of two possibilities:

1) The electronic lock is malfunctioning and forcing the door to lock. From the inside of the car, try forcing the lock to the 'unlocked' position. If you can do this with your had, but it 'snaps' back to 'locked' then it's an electrical problem. Possibly the lock solenoid itself, or the BCM.

2) If you cannot force the lock to the 'unlocked' position, then it's some sort of mechanical problem - maybe the lock is just jammed. Try spraying oil into the locking mechanism from the outside and working the lock until it's free. Otherwise, remove the interior door panel and diagnose the mechanical lock.

replace both door lock actuators to fix problem.

Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

Sounds like its the bar that goes from the latch in the side of the door up to the handle. It will need to be reattached. If that dosent seem to be the problem you may want to replace handle and all bars in the door with parts from your local junkyard.

One thing... If your last 3 doors works fine it's mean that problem is only in your drivers side. In VW like nickalxjoe wrote is air pump. So there might be an air leaking which you can hear. So if you can hear from where air running out try to fix this first.

the lock mechanism itself of the driver side door is the problem.

you may try lubricating the lock mechanism and you might un-tangle what is binding in there.

something could have stuck in the locking mechanism.
