Need help for 2001 Toyota Carmy brake lights- The brake light bulbs were replaced a couple of times in less than a month, but the brake lights still don't work. I was told by others that it could be a fuse or electrical wiring problem or both. Just checking for suggestions/opinions to see what causes this and is it simple to fix, as with the bulbs?

Do the rear running lights work, and turn signals??? Look under the dash behind the brake pedal there is a senor and wires, make sure they are plugged in. When you push the brake pedal it hits the sensor and turns the brake lights on. Check that. Sometimes your feet can hit the wires when getting in and out of car..

SOURCE: 1999 Toyotal Camry brake lights are out.

You have a ground issue.Current from another circuit is running through the lights to get to ground. this causes them to burn out quickly. You need to do a real detailed visual check.A good component wiring diagram and component locator is a requirement here.

SOURCE: How do I replace the Rear Brake light bulb of 2001 Toyota Sienna?

I have a 2001 Sienna and have had to replace most of my tail light bulbs.

The bulbs that are mounted in the fender (wrap arounds) have acess panels in the van's interior that easily pop out and expose the back of the light assembly.

However, the bulbs that are found in the lift gate are a different matter. You have to remove the whole interior panel to the lift gate to expose the light assemblies. Go to your auto parts store and get a tool to help pop out the plastic retainers from the lift gates metal frame. Don't force the retainers out. Go slowly and gently so that you don't damage the interior panel. If you are really gentle you might even get to reuse the retainers.

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2003 Toyota Camry - Both Brake lights not working

Lok in the trunk on the left side, behind the carpet for a small plastic box with a bunch of wires going to it. Look to see if there is brake light powe coming in with the pedal depressed. If so, and no power is coming out, you need to order and replace the "taillamp failure sensor".

SOURCE: 1989 Toyota Camry. No brake lights.

It could be the relay, which is a yellow box located under the carpeting in the trunk on the left side. It is a problem common to your model. Also, check the brake switch's (behind the brake pedal) functionality (12V present with key at ACC or ON and continuity between wires when button engaged).

i hope this helps

My 2001 Hyundai Accent has 106,438 miles. Last night the check brake and check battery lights both came on. My battery is less then nine months old, but the car still has the original alternator.

the light that comes on just say "BRAKE", correct?

If this is the case first check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If it is low it will turn the light on. Top off with DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid only. Continue to monitor the level. if it goes down again within 10k miles than there is likely a leak somewhere.

The other thing that will case the BRAKE light to illuminate is if the E-BRAKE lever is not in its full retracted position.

If there was a problem with the charging system a light would come on that looks like a "battery". You should be able to see this light for a couple of seconds every time you turn the key on.

Camry CE 2001: Changed the brake light in the

hi the rear high level brake warning light in rear screen ? works with the other two brake lights at same time when you press brake pedal with ignition on ? so may i suggest you check the other brake lights are working ? if not ? check these bulbs? reason being that from the symptoms you describe that high level light is staying on ? it would suggest that the brake light switch at the pedal is not operating ie not putting brake lights off when pedal is off and would suspect the brake lights have been on for some time and burned bulbs out due to the brakelight element in bulbs are high wattage if you check on what i have suggested? and is the case ? come back and will advise you how to adjust brake switch easy diy hope this helps? best wishes from the uk

No brake light one side

It is likely that the bulb is just out as the left and right brake lights would be on the same circuit. Unless there is a strange wiring issue simply replacing the bulbs should correct your problem.

Broken brake light 1997 toyota camry

sounds like a bad bulb. the filament in the bulb will bounce around and reconnect its self sometimes. when it is out tap the lens with your finger tips if it illuminates replace the bulb and recheck. the problem may lay elsewhere, but this is a cheap easy place to start.
