The Cigar lighter / DTC connector fuse is Fuse #41.

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

Need to find my lighter fuse? please help?

The cigar lighter fuse is located in the number 41 position in the fuse box located in side the vehicle. You can see a diagram of the layout below. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you wouldlike a copy of your owners manual jus email me at [email protected] with your make model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy. Don't worry it's free. Here is your picture and I hope this helps....Good luck

How do I replace the cigarette lighter housing?

The cigar lighter is installed from the back of the center trim panel.

To remove the center trim panel, open the ash tray and pull out on each lower corner. It will be hard the 1st time you remove the spring clips. Once the lower part is released, work your way up to the top, there are 3 spring clips on each side of the center trim panel. ( circled in black in the picture below )
When you get to the top, be careful how far out you pull, the Passenger airbag deactivation light is at the top, with 2 small wires to it. ( circled in green )

Once you have the center panel released, you can remove the HVAC connector ( clamp over type connectors ) or work on it in the truck.

Remove the cigar lighter connector, and release the locking tabs on the cigar lighter body. Pull the lighter plug through the front of the panel.

2005 ford f150 cigar lighter not working

1. Check the fuse #41 in the cab fuse panel.
If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

2. Are you using a device ( MP3 player, GPS, etc ) to test that it is not working, or a meter ?
- Could be the fuse in the tip of the DC adapter for the device is blown.

Getting a message

Have this checked with another scan tool. Link error is produced when the PCM fails to respond to the scan tool. More times than not this is the PCM failing.

You can look up the fuse locations in the owners manual ~ page 195 ( the PDF I have is the 1st printing from late 2003 )

If you do not have one, you can download the PDF for your MY from Ford :

The cigar lighter ( also the OBD port ) is fuse #41
The dash power point is fuse # 39
The rear power point is fuse #37

Cigarette lighter not working, already changed fuse

Look in your manual for the Power Distribution Box reference in Roadside Emergencies. It should be located under the hood on the driver's side. My 2002 Explorer has two power points on the center console and the 20A fuses in the Power Distribution Box for them are number 7 and number 9. They cost $3.99 each at AutoZone. The cigar lighter fuse under the dash is unrelated.
