My 2003 Mitsubishi Galant (V6) started to hesitate and die. It starts back up fine and will die again when I let off the gas or stop. It will run fine for a couple of months (and a few tanks of gas) and then start the process all over again.

It is your idle air control (IAC) motor. Its located on the bottom of the throttlebody. All you need to do to change it out is remove the air intake hose from the throttlebody, unplug the connector and remove 3 screws. But the part isn't cheap. I would suggest finding on online because at a local parts store it will be around $250

Actually you should try cleaning the one you have before you buy one. Just remove it and use some electrical contact cleaner to clean it up. The stuff at your local parts store is probably Lectra-motive, its in a red spray can.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Check the idle air control (IAC) motor operation sound.
    (1) Check that the engine coolant temperature is 20°C (68°F)
    or below.

    (2) Check that the operation sound of the IAC motor can be
heard after the ignition is switched to the "ON" position (but
    without starting the engine).
    • An operation sound is heard.
Q: Did you hear the operation sound?
YES : Clean the throttle valve area

2003 mitsubishi galant 2.4 engie it runs fine until i floor the accelerator then it hesitates and takes off is this a symptom of a bad fuel pump?

No, but it sounds like you need a good tune-up. If you can't do it yourself, take it to a good mechanic/repair facility.

Replaced spark plugs and wires on my 03 galant 2.4 but still hesitation i tested the coil packs if you unplug them while the engine running its runs fine plug them back up its hesitation again

Check the routing of the wires. Could be wrong. I believe the firing order is 1,4,3,2. If it is correct, clean the throttle body. On the inside, to include the back of the throttle valve. check the air filter.

When engine is warmed up the car begins hesitating

I really think it's the TPS, (throttle positioning sensor) on the throttle body. When this sensor is defective or out of position the vehicle will idle like that and even stall. If you haven't had it scanned, you should do so, that will probably tell you the problem.

2003 galant wont start

Your timing belt might have busted. Mine did that in November of 2007.... I had to replace 2 of the 4 cylinders, along with the timing belt and housing. Total cost was a little over $1700.00
