My air conditioning in my Honda Civic LX 2001 doesn't work and my mechanic says he needs to replace the car's computer. I am reluctant to do so since all of the other features regulated by my computer work fine. Please advise.

Change the mechanic to a normal person, computer is the last thing you touch, get a professional AC person to check it for you, it can be only small problem.

Well in American that's about 5 miles to the gallon. Some of our military tanks do better. I would take it to Honda immediately, you may have a fuel leak, or some other dangerous condition.
Just found some information searching Google....Apparently the Accord condernsers are prone to damage from road debris. A few of the posts I found stated they paid $700-$800 for a repair.
Find a good mechanic (not a dealer, just ask around at work or ask your neighbord). Any reputable mechanic can replace it.
