The battery is the last place I'd look. You should type "would not start" if you mean that it cranks but doesn't start. Your message is a bit confusing. An intermittent problem such as this is usually electrical though. Cranking is the noise it makes when the starter actually turns. If it cranks at times and then refuses to at others, it would probably break down to being the starter itself or the starter solenoid. If the engine starts (to a run) at times and then not at others, then you would need to steer toward problems with fuel (or no fuel pressure, or lack of), ignition (wires, coil, or distributor). If you are hoping it is something simple (and want to avoid a trip to a mechanic), maybe someone familiar with this vehicle will post a solution relating to it.
