Hi my name is Jaco.
I have an B5 AUDI A4 2.4 V6 5V (1999)
It seems to be running lean on bank number 2 (cylinders 4,5,6) Took it to Audi but they don't know what it is. Said they'll have to go through a proccess of illimanation cause the don't have a rolling road......... sounds a bit pricey to me.
Basically when it reaches opperating temperature it seems to misfire all the time under slight accelleration. It purrs like a kitten at idle
Any feed back would be greatly appretiated.

I would start with the cylinder 4 spark plug and make sure it look good and is firing correctly. After that I would look either at the final coil, ignition module and then o2 sensor. These problems are so hard to diagnose and are trial and error so much of the time.

It might be an injector problem.Sometimes if the injectors are not sealing properly they can leak fuel into the manifold even when the engine is off as there is still residual pressure there and you engine would be essentially' flooded' when you try start it again .After half an hour or so,and it would take some seconds after that to run normally untill the excess fuel is burned.
Have them checked and replaced if needed.
Please leave positive feedback if I have helped
Thanks

it is always a good idea to stay with o.e.m parts and yes there is updated parts in the newer coils. and yes the M.A.F will also cause misfire faults but will not make check engine light flash or make car shake and shudder. also check you wire harness going to your coils make sure your ground wires are not cracked. That could be the main culprate. good luck hope this helps

I too have the same problem on my 2005 1.8t B6. I noticed a hole in the breather hose coming off the valve cover that runs to another port under the intake manifold. I have the hoses on order and should be here on Wednesday. I'll post again if that fixes my problem.
