Have to know what was serviced to see if this is relevant to the problem. Grinding automatically goes to oil drained and you engine is about to seize up. More info will help on this though.
The oil light may be defective, but make sure that you have enough oil pressure @ idle. It will not matter how much oil is in there if there is no pressure. If the pressure is low, it is either the oil pump, or the oil system is clogged up somewhere like at the pick up tube at the bottom of the engine block.
There is a solution that you can add to your oil to clean the system. You have to run it a few miles and change it.
Pressure increases with RPMs.
Good Luck.
add a litre of diesel and a 3 sec squirt of fairy washing up liquid ,use vehicle for a week and see how it sounds ,if its quietened down a bit ,change the oil and use a cheap diesel engine oil and then add some more diesel and fairy and leave another week ,if it still hasnt quiented down then strip and repair ,is has quietened down the change oil again for good measure and use the diesel engine oil as its a detergent oil and then change oil at approx 6000mile interval no longer and use the cheap oil .Change oil filter every third oil change and you will not get a repeat of the problem.Use an expensive long life oil and the problem will re appear ,because the additives and combustion residues will clog up and stick the hydraulic valve lifters
the only reason for your coolant to go down is that you have a small leak somewhere. check the oil dipstick and see if you have any antifreeze mix with oil, it will have a different color and feel.
drain the fluid and refill with limited slip gear oil, add one bottle of friction modifier, ( this is very important) the noise is the clutches sticking.
Your dip stick tube is your fill tube for your transmission . Make sure your transmission oil is at opperating temp before servicing some instructions are written on the dip stick , Use a small funnel , Add a little at a time (cup). Use the proper fluid , check regularly
