Wild guess, but if the heater was jammed or had a short, it could have been the original cause of the last alternator burning out and could still be causing a strain on the current one.
First check if the alternator really is working ok by putting a voltmeter across the battery and seeing 12.5 at idle, and over 14 when reved.
Disconnect the fuses, one at a time, to see if the light goes out completely or voltage rises.
If you do, then trace the draw to its component, like the switch, a rubbed through wire, bound motor, etc.

But I agree with hotchevy1965 that dirty battery terminals or bad engine ground could also do it.

My 93 had the same problem and it was the metering fuse. You would think gauges fuse but no?

Hello i got a nissan pathfinder 1994 se v6 i replaced the starter and altenator after having starting problems ran for a day but back to the sam problem no crank no start again

Before replacing expensive units it is worth checking the basics.

The symptoms you describe indicate a battery with problems or a car with a fault causing a constant discharge as if perhaps the boot or trunk light is not switching off, for instance.

I suggest battery is charged and tested and if ok check for a discharge. I once had a car with automatically closing windows and one of the motors wasn't switching off after the windows closed causing several discharged bat before I discovered the cause.

1995 toyota 4 runner sr5 v6 3.0l stuck in park, no dash lights, running lights or brake lights

Hi John, there should be an emergency release near the base of the shifter (maybe a small red button, sometimes a slot into which you fit the ignition key). Then drive the vehicle to an auto electrician to sort out the wiring problem.

1995 camry v6 dash tail light warning o ,but all lights wok perfectly . Also Battery light is on and the altenator is overrunning the battery. the shop has replaced both the alt and battery twice, prior...

It seems to be an electrical short causing the alt to overcharge the battery. Check alt directly at the alt connector. Not over 14V running under load

Starter for 1995 pathfindert

I copied this directly out of my manual.

Starter removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. On models equipped with a V6 engine, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands.

2. Remove the wires from the starter solenoid. Label the wires and terminals to prevent confusion during installation.

3. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.

4. Lift out the starter motor and solenoid.
5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

1995 Jeep wrangler not charging properly

lf you have replacement cable ends on your battery, check that wires are not corroded under the straps. Also check alternator ground (run a ground wire directly to the alt case) I have seen "lazy" regulators at times but this is very rare. Also make sure drivebelt is tight enough to prevent slipping. Has your battery been charged and load tested?
