It's in the driver side of the luggage compartment, behind the panel that has the power outlet. You would need to remove the trim panel and follow the harness to get to it. Most of the time it's Gray color.

I have a 1990 Lexus 250 ES. Brake lights inop.

check the brake pedal switch by connecting a test light to it and ground.

When the pedal depresses you might hear a click or see the button depress.

The test light should light or not light changing as you press and release the pedal.

Another way to do this is to change the brake pedal switch and see if it works.

I hope this helps.

Brake light on after replacing brakes & sensors on 1997 Lexus LS

If you are referring to the rear brake lights and not the red brake warning light, then i suspect either a faulty brake switch(usually located above the brake pedal) or one that is not adjusted properly.

1991 Lexus ES250 Rear Brake Lights

first of all the brake lights are always in the rear only!!. take the light bulb out and while some one is appling the brake pedal check to see if yo have power at only one terminal of the socket, then release the brake pedal and make sure yu dont have power at the same terminal , now if you had poer in one of the terminal then you have to replace the socket for the brake light bulbs.

look under the dash board right at the brake pedal switc where the brake light switch is located and make sure that the wires are not broken, you can also do a quick check by just disconnecting the brake light seitch and then jump the terminal off of the brake switch and you should have light if the light works this way then you have to replace the brake light seitch

How do I change the brake lights on my 1999 Lexus?

If it's the same as the 1995 lexus, you go through the trunk.

Unscrew the bolts that are holding the brake lights in place through the holes in the apolstry in the trunk. The light should come loose and from there find which wire goes to the bulb that's out. Unscrew the piece, pull the bulb out, and replace.
