There is a bulletin on this problem, the latch is defective & needs replacement unfortunately ford doesn't recognize this as a safety recall so you have to pay $$$ I'm working on a customer's car for their passenger front door not opening bad latch. you have to get inside the door & on the latch there is a small release lever you move with a small screwdriver to open the door then replace the latch.

Door won't open can't get panel off

Some vehicles Do allow for the door panel to be removed while the door is shut, but the seat may need to be removed first.
Also, it helps if you know how to do it without destroying it.
I have to do it all the time so I know it can be done most of the time, but not always. You may end up bringing it to a body shop.

1) Are the door handles moving the latch mechanism?
If so, move on to #3.
Have someone move the inside and outside door handles while you place your ear against the door. You should be able to hear the latch mechanism moving if the rod connecting the handle to the latch is still attached. If it is determined that the latch is not being actuated, the door handle may need to be replaced, or the latch rod became dislocated from the latch. Either way, the latch can be accessed from the inside rear part of the door with the window down. Someone who knows where to locate the linkage that the door rod attaches to inside will be required.

2) The latch is stuck and dry or rusty. You can try spray
PB-blaster or WD-40 into the latch location from both the outside and inside through the gap with the long red nozzle attached. Also, roll the window down and spray through the rear of the opening the window resides, aiming again, best you can to hit the inside of the latch. Spread the rubber seals apart with a flat object and hold it open by inserting something to hold them spread apart. A cloth, wedge or something of that nature that won't damage the seals.
Place one at the rearmost part of the opening and another ahead of that one by 5 0r 6 inches so you can see where you are spaying. A mechanic can take a borescope and a rubber tube to guide the oil or spray to the effective location.
Pull and hold the door handle from inside while bumping door repeatedly and firm with the shoulder taking care not to hurt your self or damaging the door. Roll the window down all the way before attempting this. This can most often jar the latch enough to allow the door to open. It make take a while, but most of the time it works. A heavier or bigger person may be more effective than say a smaller or elderly person.

3) (NOTE: If all of these possible scenarios do not produce results for whatever reason, the door panel can be compromised much cheaper than damaging the door shell.)

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

Rear passenger door won't stay closed

Door latch on door itself is in closed position if it will not close at all. In this case, open door and pull outside handle hard to pop open door latch. If you have door opening at random, door latch needs replacing or door catch on body is loose.

Rear passenger door on a 2006 nissan sentra wont open from the inside or the outside

If power windows and the same window does not open the child safety switch is a very good possible reason.

My rear passenger side door will not close

Just use the outside door handle and pull on the latch that is closed. If you use the inside door handle then you will have to undo the child lock.
Pull on the latched that is closed while holding the outside door handle....Make sure that it is unlocked...

Rear passenger door will not open

If the door won't open from either the inside or outside than there is a problem with the latch assembly or alignment. You can use the other rear door to see how the child lock works. Meanwhile, you'll have to remove the door panel on the right rear door from inside the vehicle. Then you can reach inside with a screwdriver and flashlight and work the latch free. Once you get it open you can further diagnose if it is alignment or a faulty latch assembly. It's not going to be easy getting the door panel off from inside or working the latch to release. I hope this helps.
