Starter location We do not have an owner's manual so my question is "Where is the starter located on a 2000 F150 truck?

Fuse number 6 in the battery fuse box powers the alternator.
Your owners manual should list the fuses by location.

The fuel pump relay is located in the engine bay fuse box. Refer to the owners manual for location or the lid of the fuse box. *(It is near the battery.)

The cig. lighter fuse is located in the number 3 position in the fuse box located inside the vehicle and should be a 20 amp fuse (see picture below). This should be in your owners manual if you have one. It also will define the high current fuses and relays under the hood.

There are three, locate your power distribution box under the hood on the left hand fender well, in side this box locate fuse number 5, the row of fuses closest to the fender and from the rear of the vehicle the third one in that row is number 5. Also number 19 and 20, look all the way in front of the box find a group of four fuses, from the front the second fuse is 19 and directly across is number 20. This information comes from your owners manual, Roadside Emergency section. The starter is located on the passenger side rear of the engine Two bolts(size13mm??) Be sure to disconnect the pos. battery cable first, before disconecting the wires from the starter,otherwise, you'll ground those wires out and have fireworks. Also, draw out a diagram of the wiring before removing them,so you'll know where they go back on your new starter.
